Calculated, Total, and Usable PPF?

Can someone help explain or know of a good article i can read to help understand these 3 terms? I just received my PAR meter and want to get the most out of it. Thanks again!

You probably already know, but to be Mr Obvious:
PPF, PAR photon flux, is a flow of photons within the PAR range of wavelength. Flux is an old-fashioned word for flow. Since we use mol to count photons, the unit of PPF is mols/second.

Those terms just describe how much of the total flow actually goes where you need the illumination: The plant canopy. The meter actually measures how much flux is hitting an area, or flux density, expressed as PPF per square meter. PPFD. HTH
