Can anyone solve this mystery for me.

So I got a question, I was growing two cherry gar see ya strain by Ethos genetics. They did really good I got maybe 9-10 oz from two plants which seems good to me but when I pulled the plants out of the pots the roots just wasn’t there it was super compact and the roots was small and everywhere it was so hard I was punching it to break it up. So my question is during veg I transplanted them and the roots was so white and wrapped around the soil and looked great!! So my question is where did I go wrong that they didn’t look like that when I pulled them out at end of grow. Soil was ocean forest foxfarms, final pot size was 7 gal nutes general hydroponics. Light marshydro 2000

The buds turned out great really dense when you squeeze them but the weight isn’t there like a eighth of mine looks like a lot and don’t weight anything I feel like it’s strange.
Pics of the buds you probably pulled to early or not enough light.

Yeah I’m about home from work I’ll take some pics of the bud ya I could’ve pulled early for sure I pulled at 8 weeks when breeder suggested to which I think was early and that’s why the buds are dense but no weight ya know

If they're dense and hard to break up I wouldn't worry too much honestly. Are the plants healthy?
Yeah they looked very healthy the whole grow but I just find it strange the roots was wrapping around the soil ball during veg and then after the plant was done she had very few that was little and everywhere nothing like before I wonder if it’s possible for me
To let the plant get to dry and it kills the roots cause I did go awhile in between watering it’s just bugging me I wanna perfect everything.

With the Wonka Bars bagseed plant I grew out a while ago, I found the roots to look similar to the way you described at the end. I personally had issues with over-watering during that grow. Although I am not certain, my thought is that the roots never fully colonized my pot because the plant did not need to. Likely, this compromised my yield some.

I could also see a problem like yours happening if a person left a plant in a container too long before transplanting.

Whether or not any of those things happened during your grow, I am not sure (this isn't meant to be an accusation). My Wonka Bars flowers were excellent quality, though (in my opinion). I hope your buds are nice too.

Genetics, lighting and early harvest are three usual suspects

No matter the breeder not every pheno is a winner
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we could rule out early harvest as the reason if we knew how long the plant was in the final pot.

Look at the pics
He chopped before they finished based on pistils not receding
You can't trust pistil color as they brown drying even
So what you think I should’ve let it go longer? The trichomes was milky ya know maybe I got to excited and the 8th week just got to
Impatient this time around I’m going for 9-10 weeks.

Looks like it was pulled early for sure.
So my question is this is my 3rd harvest and each time it has gotten better so I’m aiming in the right direction for sure I think but I just lack the weight to them the size is okay but the just don’t weight nothing. Is this due to early harvest? How can I perfect my harvest skills

Yep you pull too early they’ll dry to nothing.
