I made a post that got deleted a few weeks ago maybe i’ll try to be more vague here with a comment. Is anyone part of a Canadian Discord where folks discuss things we are allowed to do legally through the post? Feel free to shoot me a direct msg :blsmoke:

I've always ordered from the Tude! Just the amount of seeds and selection has always got me. Now starting out it was great but trying to refine strains is another thing. I love growing out flowers and seeking the differences between one and another.

Over 20 different strains ranging from each a different breeder for the most part. It's my way of seeing what the market has to offer. Out of those that I've grown only (still have tons more seeds) there is about 3 or so that hit my mark in terms of keepers. The rest seemed like mid grade genetics.

I would also be interested in a discord =p

I have ran through a number of Strains over the years, my first order was through attitude I purchased white Russian (serious seeds) G13 haze (Barney's farm) and og Kush (reserva privada) that was back in 2008 and I haven't used the tude since, now its just American and Canadian seed sellers over the years I've definitely found some outstanding plants, some I still have and some I unfortunately let go. I've also found a whole shit ton of terrible plants, I find some breeders are more reliable than others. My feeling is there should be multiple good plants in a pack of seeds...it should be hard to pick a winner(unless it something really unique and special).
But the search always continues trying to find something special.
I love seeing the differences in strains as well

What have you tried and what ones hit the mark for you?

Here's a list of breeders I've used so far.
Barney's farm- G13 Haze
Serious seeds - White Russian
Reserva privada- og kush(keeper) purple kush(one of the worst)
Reservoir seeds- chemdog sour diesel (all time favourite)
DNA genetics- kushberry ( keeper very nice)
TGA- Jilly bean, the flav, qrazy train
Dutch passion- blueberry(terrible)
Sensi seeds- black domina
Jordan of the island- Blueberry,God bud, God's green crack
Dr greenthumb- ecsd,Bubba kush
Top dawg- garlic goat, chem de la chem f2
Cannarado- biscotti sundae(couple keepers), sundae strudel,gelato margy,skunky margy,one night stand(keeper), doho x wedding cake(keeper), doho x pyxy styx(keeper), purple margy
Ethos- cherry garseeya(keeper), banana hammock, early lemon berry, Blueberry sunset, mandarin cookies(keeper)
Greenpoint- copper chem, chem daquiri,tombstone

I think that's it but I might be forgetting something, I'm also about to run some Mosca seeds, esos seeds, lemon hoko seeds and dark horse genetics.
Can't wait to see what's in these beans, hopefully some fire.
Yes I think everyone would be interested In a discord channel like that, hopefully it happens.

Well happy growing and keep it moist

JustBlazin I'm going to run Dr Greenthumb's ECSD, I was wondering if you could describe the high (is it a head buzz) and smell (do you get the real deisel?).

What was it that you liked so much about chemdog sour diesel?

I liked ecsd, still have some beans left....it stuck around awhile, if canada didn't have the shifty plant count rules or had a acmpr I would still have it. There was a few phenos some kinda shifty and 2 nice ones. But at least one of the plants got stuck in the corner without ideal light due to its neighbour stretching alot. Don't remember the buzz a whole lot(maybe that's a good thing..lol) but the plant got fairly tall with nice sized chunky buds dense but not super dense, buds had a nice stink to it some sour and some gas was fairly frosty with a little bit of colour if I remember coffectly. I probably have some pics some where, I'll see if I can dig them up.

The chemdog sour diesel was just super rank, I absolutely loved the smell and taste plus it was super potent. Problem was it thru nanners and had the Wierd verigation that everyone used to say was tmv but it wasn't, I was younge and naive and thought the nanners would pollinate my grow so I plucked them all now I know they were more than likely sterile, so ya I got rid of it for those 2 reasons unfortunately. But the stank on those was Awsome like garlic b.o and skunk, hard to describe but I loved it. Thought it was the chemd smell, so I purchased a few crosses with chem d clone but while the stuff was super rank and real nice, wasn't the smell I was looking for. So now I think it was from rez sour diesel ibl with was pretty well loved, unfortunately shit went south with him and took sour d ibl with him as far as I know.
I made some seeds with his gear but unfortunately I didn't store them right and I can't get them to pop

Thanks BK!
Any luck obtaining Regalia? When I looked into it no one would sell it to me without a pesticide spraying license and when I looked into the course you could only take the pesticide course of you were a Farmer.
I saw that link but it's now $500 for 3.75L, when I was looking in the early spring I was finding that for about $250.

I was beginning to think Albertans didn't identify as Canadian anymore, just like Ontario's neighbours to the east
im a canadian from east of ontario and im happy to be a Canadian. Quebec didnt want to legalize grow but canada told quebec it is their laws that have priority for cannabis :) yeah!! québec wanted to do like they did with alcohol. A big monopole for government only. But cannabis did escape from this kind of monopole.

im happy.

Hipposcottamus I think I'm going to order from Arabico again, they're an American company so the price is much cheaper. $500 CAD from the Canadian supplier and only $117 USD from Arabico.

I have Arabico send the box to OPAS, a reshipper. They rebox and ship to Canada for a fee.

All together the cost is under $300 CAD, save a couple hundred bucks over buying from a Canadian supplier.

Not that a freight forwarder like shippsy or cross boarder pickups would bring items with ease from the USA, then only issue I see having would be that In 2018 they banned importing for personal use. In addition, not exceeding 500ml would be another.
Don’t want to rain on the parade , just give you more to look at.
Enjoy

Canadianals I am looking for advice with Powdery Mildew. I am growing outdoors in Southern Ontario and last year I had to fight a small amount of powdery mildew in the last few weeks of flower. My solution was to strip most leaves and manage, I also tossed any affected buds.

Looking to get ahead of the game this year with some advice from any of you Canadian Growers. What are you preventive steps for fungus?

Here's a look at what I'm growing.
30 gal soil. 25% peat/compost/top soil/perilite. Ammended with Gia Green 4.4.4/2.8.4 and EWC/Compost teas.
This year I have added Gro Tek Gro Silic to strengthen the plants and hopefully ward of any problems.

Thanks for any tips in advance.

I like potassium bicarbonate. It's cheap, readily available. And works really well. I spray it once a week in the veg room as preventative.

Would the same thing be in a sulpher spray? I have a fungicide that has sulphur.

Do you know if sulphur could be used as a preventative or is it more of a treatment once mildew appears?
I use a homemade solution for both preventive and treatment of PM......very safe and effective

1 gallon of water
1 tablespoon of baking soda
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid

Mix the ingredients together and add them to a spray bottle.

Spray your plants weekly, preferably on overcast days to prevent it from burning the foliage.

I do same thing with potassium bicarbonate which you can get at beer and wine stores or on Amazon. P bicarbis a little more effective than sodium bicarb. And also I drown the girls in the stuff so feels better to sue potassium. Lol.
