Cannabis plant smells like hay before harvest

I got quart mason jars and humipacks that jeep it at 62 percent RH. Im gonna feel an ounce in each one and burp twice a day for two weeks once a day for one week and then evaluate the situation if it needs burped for another week or so before I only burp em once a week. Im gonna keep them in my tool box so they're in a dark place thats in my lung room.

at the end of my first grow and having a few issues. I'll go ahead and give the rundown of whats happening. I got seeds from homegrown cannabis so I think some might be a genetic issue. First is first ppms are between 150-300, humidity is at 45 percent temp 75 percent. Use inkibirds to control it. Water when the its light and first two inches are dry also have a meter gauge to test wetness of soil. I didntbuse nutes until 45 days in because of using fox farm ocean forest and even then I only use every 3rd water at 50% recomended dosage. Actually less because im using gallons and its for liters. I have to water bow Bout everyday since theyre eating like crazy. Theyre in 5 gallon pots and blueberry jack herrer autos. First issue one plant just turned yellow and died, second issue I had four now down to 2 one just didn't take off and they all starting flowerinf 2 weeks apart. I thought that was just odd. One plant seems to be doing perfect besides the third issue. It smells like hay. I dont know if thats what it's supposed to smell like on the plant or not before harvest. They're in a 4x8 one intake fan one outake fan voth with carbon filters and 4 mini fans tqo above 2 below set on low. I use filtered water also and ph is always between 6.4-6.9. Im at loss.
I only get that hay smell if I dry my herb too fast, which I haven’t done in quite a while. I’ve never experienced a hay smell while growing or harvesting, regardless of how bad the strain was. Not sure why that happened.

The seed company replied to my bad review on just the strain. So I don't really care for refund because if it was my fault. But I dont kbow enviorment is badically perfect with all the automated equipment and soil testing and ph and ppm meters ive gotten. So Im pretty sure its the genetics.

Might be a combination of smells from nutrients + growing medium + smells around the plant like air or some other plants around it that have their own scent, or some ozonizer that u may have or a specific ona scent, after all the CO² goes thru the leave there has to be some smell being stuck inside the leave

Last strain i grew, a pineapple glue the popcorn bud that i quick dried had some mad flower scent, but th well dried and cured bud, was that tropical flavour with just a tiny hint of flower hardly even noticable, i only noticed the tiny hint because i had smoked the quickdried before.

The one I just cut down stsrted smelling like bud on day two of drying. So weird the whole time it smelled like hay until dry time.

Anyone know if an autoflower can go 4 weeks past its expected time. Thats one of my issues like should I pull it or what. Its like only one of my autos is doing what its supposed to from my research.

Autos are a gamble due to their genetic makeup.

I had two auto's sharing a 11l fabric pot, 1 was in the middle 1 was more on the side, at week 3 i removed the side one but i didnt want to cut the middle one's roots because its for a growdiaries contest, so i just pulled the side one straight up out, all that came out was a piece of root, i didn't want to waste it so i set it in some shitty flowers soil outdoors since the grow tent is full, here they are one after the other. The outdoors one had to rebuild all the root so its like 3 weeks behind of the other one.

Will it make it. I heard autos have basically a pre set lifespan which only the plant could know. Due to there make up though if theyre stunted at all they might not finish? Is this true.

Not sure yet, but its growing good after spending a week recovering the root, im just waiting and seeing, since i will only plant again in 30Th of july so i can go out to visit my family all around the country, im not worried too much, my current grow is enough to support me untill the next grow finishes.

Just like to watch it recover and grow without most of the fan leaves. And it made me rethink about outdoor growing, next grow will do the usual 4 indoors but will add 4 more outdoors this time.

None of mine smell bad, but if i use the organic nutes they get funky smelling, but after 2 waterings their smell is already a pungent weed smell. But since i sleep in the same room as my grow tent im already pretty used to the smell, i can only feel their smell upclose. If you smell the soil and it stinks its more likely the weed itself will be a combination of its genetic smell + soil smell, the more the soil stinks the more smelly the plant gets, this is only my opinion tho, but i use different soil in each pot, i collect in from nature so all of the soil is different and usually from different spots, had the same strain growing in 2 soils and the soil that was stinky af gave out the most smelly weed. After dried and cured it smelled amazing.

I wonder what would be the effects of using a tiny portion of whale's poo on a grow, since its what they use to make high end perfumes get so powerfull, but that shit(literally) is expensive.
