Can’t yield more than 2 zips a plant

The rains only come when I’m on vacation :(
We go every year, PCB, Destin, Navarre (gulfside). Usually from early to late June. It may rain for a hour or two every other day. I don't mind, offshore storms create a great surf to play in! But If I lived there I would be growing inside or at least have movable plants to avoid the outside humidity and the rain.

ts2000 is 300w led with a ppf of 716 umol/S
Ts3000 is 450w putting out like 1000umol

your setups are worlds apart as far as lighting goes. A 250w hps puts out like 100umol which is not a lot.
Exactly, everything else looks similar to mine. The lighting is the only dramatic difference I see.

One of the white papers I read said that the optimal output for growth without stressing plants is 942umol. I’ll try to find the link and post it here.

942 umols? That has to be fully enriched with co2 correct?

Nope, I run my 4x4 with a bit over 1000umol no co2 ain’t never burned anything.
1000umol?! what the hell. Last grow i could not push my plants really past 700umol... I got exellent growth though. Maybe not refreshing ambient co2 enough? i was also running colder temps in late flower, 75f max more like 68's.

And this current run if i push my veggers past 300umol they get unhappy cal deficiencies. it must be my temps?

can you give them more calcium to support the growth? strains respond differently. mine ate up magnesium instantly after upgrading lights, epsom salt solved that

There's no 250w hps lamp that has 1.6umols/watt

MIgro tested a 600w SE HPS and it was 1.26umols/watt

A 250w HPS is far less efficient
From what I can see its all marketing crap to make their LEDs look good.

check this out, umols/watt at different heights above the canopy.

2.7 umol/j Lumatek ATS300w pro (310w cover a 1m x 1m )
30cm (above canopy)622 / 310w = 2.00 umol/j
40cm (above canopy)572 / 310w = 1.84 umol/j
50cm (above canopy)524 /310w = 1.69 umol/j
100cm (above canopy)401.80/ 310w = 1.29 umol/j

50cm above the canopy looks good so that's 1.69 umol/j not 2.7 umol/j at this height above the canopy
So at this height is it any better than a de HPS, I am not sure, are you?

Im not doing much to up the calcium. i was thinking my hard well water could handle all their needs. I recently started supplementing with epsom and saw healthier growth, maybe the calcium is lagging now. my well water is .5 ec always assumed it had enough but maybe not.

Yes
Independent tests prove otherwise

2 bloom-dedicated tents: 1200W & 720W. 1200W area seems to be too much. My 720W area often outperforms the 1200W space (based on avg. plant yield). Already planning to make multiple 720W areas, this thread seems to confirm I'm doing something (or multiple things) wrong.

Also, different spaces dedicated for veg v. bloom -- each with different watts and distance to light -- may also be counterproductive if I'm not optimizing veg station. Ugh.... Also think it's mostly genetics. Green Gelato seems to do well in both tents. Others, not so much.

At the same time, I only harvest tops. I'm not sure everyone excludes popcorn.

yikes, that is some hefty water. do you know the composition of it? if calcium is high, it would make sense things improve with epsom since the ratios would be closer to where they need to be

most of the LED tests I have seen, keep the center part under the led at a level you would never use, like 900-1200par
Would be great if the whole canopy had a par reading of 750 including the sides, then I would be happy with 2.00 umol/j.
seems to me, most growers buy a light near 3.00 umol/j and dim it down so it could drop under 2.00 umol/j or it bleaches the leaves.

That's not how LEDs work. Efficiency increases when dimmed

Bullshit!! How do you make bigger roots in a soil grow?
I am not a master grower. I've grown in a lot of different mediums for over 2 decades. The same clones with the same food/water/air/light will root differently in different mediums. I used some bags of a landscaping trees and bushes mix that had a lot of craggy bits of bark in it. Never had such bushes of roots.

Nobody but led manufacturers is saying that 300w is equal to 1000w de

a 250w hid is way less efficient than a 1000de(which is still comparable to high powered 650w+ Leds not in umol/j but in coverage and light output) the only thing op needs to do is improve his lighting.

2x2 area get you one these for $50

you still ain’t gonna yield pounds or anything, but should be able to pull 4-6oz without much trouble.
