Always run a can 66. Decided to buy a can lite on sale and changed it out this grow. Since day 1 seems like waaaay less air coming out the exhaust also tent isnt sucking in anymore its actually blown up from the intakes indicating pos pressure. Which never happened before with the can 66. The can lite says its rated for 420cfm.
Ive heard of but never dealt with a clogged up filter... Has anyone experienced this before? Did I maybe get a dud? Or is the lite line shit?

I've tried can lites never saw a difference check your fan
Shouldn't be the fan. Its a can fan basically brand new can fan max fan pro series 6" 420 cfm. And it sucked the tent in with the can 66 with 2 240cfm intakes
Ive had my other can fan for almost 10 years and it still pulls like the day it came out the box

I have had filters plug up. But not new out of the box. I had two do it over the years.
The first one I took out and banged around. Hooked it back up and I could smell the grow out the exhaust.
I’ve heard high humidity can plug them badly. But I never had high humidity when mine plugged

I don’t use filters anymore. Raw dog that shit outside fuck it. Fans cool way more efficient now.

Ya i hear ya but i vent into my viranda in the front. It has no heat and it keeps it warm enough so the minnows dont freeze. Plus my neighbourhood is semi sketch so id rather not have a big sign that smells. I GROW WEED IN HERE LOOK!!!!!
LOL
My rh% is super low. I have a hard time getting it past 30% so it cant be that

Sounds over packed or clogged from use. I firmly tap mine from all sides on top of a moving blanket. Then use a hose with good hard jet stream to wash or rinse outside first. Then inside until no carbon runs off. Then a good blow drying with compressed air before attatching the fan to exhaust through the filter until dry. Big improvement in airflow. I also open my canisters after 2 seasons and replace the carbon.

High rh can clog it, but spraying it down with a hose inside out doesn't?

Just my filter follies. And it maybe a poor design or bad filter material. Careful with the economy buys. LOL.

The difference is in the carbon; special low-density granulated carbon is used in the Can-Lite™ as well as incorporating a built-in flange.

I would double check the seal at the flange

Well its a can filter and id put them at the top of the pack. I dont skimp on things but this filter was on sale online and seemed like a good deal. Again I always run full sized can 66 but this smaller 'lite' version seemed like a good idea but has proven otherwise.

At the basic level you have less surface area. Hence a reduction in cfm. And most likely high end finer carbon and filter mesh. Further reducing cfm. I'd give it a good beating without damaging. Outside on a pad of some sort. Then blow the hell out of it from the inside with an air compressor and nozzle. Will open all the pieces up a bit. But I see no other solution after hearing your post. Good can be too good thing.

This is probably not it, but there is another thread around somewhere where a guy had the same issue, and the filter was actually blocked somehow with plastic from the factory-maybe see if you unpacked it completely? That other guy had a piece of the material shoot into his fan and destroy it LOL

Too much fan for the filter. Dont use water. Vacuum OD compressed air on the ID towards the OD. Tapping is fine but dont beat on it. If carbon is coming out, its fuct
