hello all

so i decarboxylated 7 grams of quality hemp (cbd bud) at 250F for 35 mins (ive eaten hemp using this method and it works great; i may decarb at a higher temp next time just to see the difference).

After the decarb, i used the double-boiler method where the top part or pot was infusing at a steady 170F. I used 1/2 cup of coconut oil. Let it infuse for just over 2 hours.

Strained it, let it cool for like 20 mins, and tried it with zero results. not the slightest buzz.

should i try 1/4 cup of oil to 7 grams of hemp???
just picked up a bottle of lecithin..not sure if this is going to make the slightest difference.

What am i doing wrong??? Should i skip the double boiler method and just throw the decarbed hemp and oil into a mason jar and let it sit in a cool dark spot for 24 hrs???

please help. thanks

It there is no THC, what are you waiting to feel?
It’s relaxing, cbd that is....lots of folks find use for it

Full spectrum and broad spectrum cbd oil is nice....yet i can not replicate what the producers are doing...I’ve made multiple batches with zero results.

Really don’t want to spend 50 to 150 dollars on oil.

What is the starting material like? Can you feel the cbd if you smoke or eat the bud?

Try to extract in a jar or crockpot maybe the stainless/aluminum double boiler is a problem?

Hemp looks just like regular weed lol. People smoke hemp all the time and get the therapeutic effect.

Hemp is just weed, but potency varies. I’ve been extracting from cannabis with 8% or higher cbd and I can definately feel it.

If you are using 7g of 10% CBD plant then when infused in a 1/2 cup oil generates about 30mg per teaspoon. I take 100mg per day and only notice it if I don't take it. My attitude is less mellow, pains I forgot are back, I am more anxious. There are no psychoactive effects so you won't get a high.

I’ve grown 1:1 strains, and all cbd strains. In Canada hemp requires paperwork and government inspection still, it’s less hassle to grow the stronger varieties. What passes a test for hemp could have 2% cbd where something like DinaMed + has 20%. Hemp bud should be cheap try a larger quantity or run multiple batches with the same oil and see what you get.

I never use a metal pot though.

Your process is okay but kind of wasteful. The most common hemp extraction method is ethanol.

Look up the qwet process.

Basically soak the herb in 190 proof alcohol. Herb and alcohol should be in freezer to get as cold as possible before the soak. Times vary depending on desired outcome.

Then you evaporate the alcohol off, you can use a double boiler for that as well just not near a gas flame and keep the area well ventilated. I use a nuwave oven to evaporate mine off. It it's something you plan to do often extractcraft makes a machine to recycle the alcohol. They also have a Facebook group that is very helpful for extractions wether you have the machine or not.

I prefer to decarb the oil after the process instead of decarbing the bud before the process.

Either way don't use this as a guide, just look up the qwet process and several videos and maybe join that FB group I posted. I only posted the general steps not in detail enough to make it.

I use a water distiller with 190 proof alcohol

Id like to do exactly what you said but I’m just sketched out about burning off the alcohol....I do have electric stove tho..

I think I’d be okay with a small batch but idk...u have a fire extinguisher on hand?

You think I’m safe with a small batch and electric stove top

I'd hate to say yes and u burn something up or hurt yourself. But if you read enough methods or watch some videos on YouTube majority of the guys explain how to safely do it. Its not near as dangerous as other extraction methods. If your electric range has an extraction fan leading to the outside and you used a double boiler method on low heat.

Look up greenmasserati on youtube, he has an effective DIY winterisation setup that works well with high ETOH extractions for removing lipids etc.

Alcohol is flamable, but it isn't very explosive...
