Cfl power

This is what I got from my cfl so far with gp3 part and vitathrive started rezin for biggest few to flower next week in tent. I did some heavy defoliation that was long overdue. I do see CFL do not have the power to grow small branches at the bottom of the plant they grew 5 to 10 cm and died off if I didnt clear a direct path to light.
First grow but I have done a garden before so I knew a bit coming into this and haven't had any nutrient issues or bug issues so far lots of green.
I am using a mix of soft white and daylight 100w equivalent bulbs. And a few 60w equivalent. Got lots of information and then even more stuff I wanna try in future grows from reading on the RIU forum. 20200531_160919.jpg20200531_160654.jpg
Any help appreciated...?20200531_160919.jpg

Looking nice dude. Great for a first grow. You can also use led bulbs. They work well and are more efficient than cfls. they have better penetration too.

I'm gunna switch out next grow I didnt know that and yes I could have gotten a cheap led but I didnt want that at the time nor felt I could drop over 100 on a light when I had these around

they don’t cost that much man. You can get 10 philips 14w for around 40 bucks. Thats 140w of led. you can pop the diffusers off and they are just smds on a pcb.

I know leds individual dont cost too much and what just pop the round part off the bulb? I saw other ppl use cheap led since I started. I have a 4x4 with 1x4 prop /clone area i think i need to focus and get a decent LED for the bigger area I can use the cfl for closet and small area of tent. I meant the big LEDs cost quite a bit but deff worth it now that I can see how little penetration i get.
I said the other part about cost cuz we are a community dont see why ppl need to add unnecessary comments and or make fun and laugh at other people builds.
Lamp kit was 14 each and splitters were 5 or 7 depending on store and big splitter was 25. I spent under 200 CAD on my lighting so kinda hard to beat that also got it over 2 months not in 1 purchase. I also made a mistake ordered 5000w led from China in april and have yet to see it leave China in tracking info.

Ok cool. That 5000w is no where near 5000w you know that right?
i diyed my fixture and am very happy with it. What i suggested was just replacing the cfl bulbs with domestic use led bulbs. They are more efficient and they provide better penetration.
still tho they look cool and healthy kudos.

Yea I know it wont be anywhere near 5000w but should be more power then the cfl. I will look into led bulbs over the cfl I saw a video with the dude grows community where guru said the a19 led are more efficient and better overall then the cfl but that was after I build this

i found they worked best if right on top, like 6 inches or. less... then stick some around for side lighting. yield. may not be great but you can actually keep the stretch to a. minimum that way.
i thought they had more thc than my current LED grown buds, but my tolerance is very high now... so maybe not... lol

Ok thankyou I thought same put lamp in corner with a splitter and then do same in opposite corner. I haven't seen much stretch if you keep lights close enough and as for my yield I'll let you know my aim is for 6 oz with 3 plants.

dude, I appreciate your passion. And your plants look great. I've been there! Get a QB or small hps. Your efficiencies are much higher than those CFLs. But its your grow, and rock what you have, and own it! Grow on brutha!

I got the tent today and home depot finally took my money and prepped the order so this is how I have it set up rn gunna add more lights tomorrow when I pick up order. But now the plants can breath and i have space to climb at the sides to work on them while in the tent. My net sucks owell I'll make a better trellis next time. I also couldnt fit my small fan in a way to pull air out of the tent so gotta work on exhaust asap.
Tent is eh you get what you pay for it doesn't light leak bad but few pinholes. And bad stitching. So happy with extra space now . Hope everyone's grow is going well. 20200601_192930.jpg
