Clones in Rockwool?

I decided to take a try and cloning. Something I have always wanted to try but didn’t have the space to do so.
Anyway my question is in regards to stuffing the cutting into rockwool.

the cubes have that existing hole in them. But my cutting are a little smaller then the hole and flop around.

I just pressed the cutting in a little
Further into the cube. Now they stand upright.

Is this correct or should I be waiting to take larger stemmed clones?

I razor blade cut then on a 45*.
Scraped the bottom 3/4”
Dunked in cloning gel
Pressed into rockwool cubes
Stuck in my homemade solo cup humidity dome

I soaked the cubes overnight in 50/50 Tap/RO with a light shot of GH rapid start. PH 5.5.
Hopefully they take.

I dunno. What do you think?

I use smaller clones with less leaf, but u will be fine. Careful with that small dome if it got no vents. Too much humidity over time is not good either.

Find a happy equilibrium with the humidity. If you have the lis completly closed = too much. Off = too dry. Maybe prop the top cup up with a couple toothpicks.
Another thing is make sure your rockwool cube is not completely soaked with water. It can hold a lot of water. I use a string to suck water out of the rockwool if it is too moist

My plan was to hot pin a hole in the top of the lid. The bottom cups already have holes for drains as I use them with perlite hempy befoe going to 3 or 5 gal hempys

Think a hole in the lid would work?
I let the cubes sit on a paper towel for a few minutes while I cut and prepped the clones.

Make a hole that you can control. Control the hole. Bigger. Smaller. More. Less. If you have a humidity measurer you can get precise. What is the humidity in the room? And temp?
You want to cause the plant to breath, too much humidity = no breath, Too dry = breath too much and dry out.

The tent is at 77F abd 50-60%RH

the dome I would assume be warmer and higher RH. But not sure how to test such A small area.

Bigger dome easier to control.
Yeah for sure. But I just don’t have the room for a 10”x20” tray. Which is what they all seem to be. The smaller ones only have like 5” height

my veg tent is only 20”x36”. Witch is working ok with a 3x3 flower and 4 plant limit.

Not helping that I am attempting to grow some veggies too. Lol one day I will expand.1B7F53CF-60A3-410F-A805-23C0A5F58B2E.jpeg

You could try putting that solo cup on top of the lights up there. It will be nice and warm. If you have the branches to make a lot of clones, try many places in the tent for where works best. If the room is 50-60% you might not need a lot of help to get the % up,

i would trim the leaves for sure and maybe get a small clear tote used upside down and put like 6 in there the more plants the better the odds

you can keep the tote outside the tent somwhere on a shelf with an LED light bulb and i use a car sunscreen laid over it and a heat pad under it

I have tried germinating seeds on the drivers and seedlings. Gets too warm they get cooked.

Trying to work inside a 4 plant legal limit here.
so only a couple clones to try.
I would like to try a 16 plant Sog in my 3x3 just for shits and giggles. I mean I’m sure I’d pull a lb like any other Time you fill the canopy right.

would be nice to see a law change allowing more plants. And limit sq/ft maybe. Or allow a amount of unrooted clones.

well as long as you use the hormone and pick nice cuttings and do it right they will root for sure i had them take over 2 weeks almost 3 to root but once they do its off to the races
