Clone's keep failing.

As anyone who has read my previous threads you will know I am growing in a shed, I've taken numerous clones and they've all failed except one which made it. I've tried to take a few more at the beginning of flower and they failed to. All cuttings dipped into clonex and into root riot plugs.
Could it be lack of heat which is causing the problem as they're under a single t5 light which is not the warmest, and this is being done in my shed also.
Would a small heatpad under the dome work? Or should I bring the dome and t5 into the house for a warmer temp room?

Seedling mat and a dome over the clones. Domes are for clones. Regulate the heat. 70-78. These mats can hit 86 in my case without regulating it somehow. They don’t need much light. Have you successfully rooted cuttings before?

Quite possible. I once had a tray of cuttings for four weeks and nothing happened. Then I realized they were in quite cool spot. I moved them to ~24c and most rooted in less than a week.

Try water cloning in a small DWC tote? No need for domes and high temps. Less risk for mold since you're better of with lower temps when water cloning.

I just put the clones in and forget about them in the corner outside of the tent at ambient temp and lighting. Cloning should be the easiest part about growing Cannabis.

Just the one rooted but I haven't previously tried so no I've not rooted successfully before. This is the first time I've grew and just wanted a few incase I liked the smoke.

Water cloning sounds like an idea but I'm brand new to growing so will look into them for future.for now I'd just like to get a couple rooted incase I like the smoke.

You could even put a cutting in a glass and change the water out daily. It's what I did when I was young and broke.

I will try a couple in a glass and look into the dwc option. Will I keep the glass in the house, I'm pretty sure temp has something to do with it in my shed and that's why I'm having so many failures.

Get a small $5 brick of coco. Rehydrate some and fill up small containers as you need. Insert clone, put in warm location out of direct light with a dome for a few days. Remove dome and wait for roots to show. Coco is excellent for cloning. If you only need a few clones at a time those water based cloning systems are more hassle than anything. If you were running an operation where you needed a significant amount of clones that's the way to go. If you're only going to be taking a few cuttings at a time coco is the way to go.

Root riot cubes soaked in pH6 EC 0.6 cut the clone and plant straight into cube

I’ve done this with these clones several times during my current grow to keep them rerooting each time to slow them down.

No dome or rooting hormone? I will give this a try also.

My favorite method is the bubble cloner

I change the water after one or two days and let it go for a few weeks. The bubble cloner I bought is an oxy clone it has a water pump with venturi and an air stone

I also use a brand new razor, that I clean off with rubbing alcohol to get the oil off of it then hit it with a flame to be sure it is sterile.

That first res change is just in case anything is floating around, and usually is when I decide to pull out any that look like they aren't going to make it

How big are the cuttings you are taking? Size can make a big difference. I take little dinky cuttings when I top my plants sometimes and they always take longer than nice big proper clones with a thicker stem. When you take the cuttings, let the stems sit in a cup of water for an hour, then dip in rooting hormone and put into your coco or root riot (I like both), then put into a dome. Mist the inside cover of the dome only, not the cuttings. Give it a few days and then open the vents up a bit. Few more days and start taking off the dome for short periods-put it back on if they wilt. Doing this hardens them off and encourages root growth. They will def root faster inside than in a shed.

Pic below is the size of the cuttings I have been taking. That's the only one that I successfully rooted. I do put them in a glass of water when taking the cuts. Once ready I do the cut at a 45% angle then dip into clonex,pop into a root riot cube place in dome. Now you have just said it though I mist the clones I will stop that and do only dome and bring them indoors.

That's a little on the small side, which is fine if you are topping your plants before going into 12/12 or something, but if you have a mother plant, let it grow out until you can take clones twice that size-the thicker stem roots faster.

I dont have a mother plant. But will be building a space for one in future, when I do find a strain I like. These were gifted to me for my first grow so I could try out growing myself, which I do like.

I've had bad luck with Clonex rooting gel. If you can find some I would suggest switching to a rooting powder. I use Hormex no.1.

I've found the keys to success are humidity and warmth. I don't do anything fancy and have a 100% success rate - literally never once did a clone fail to root.

Sharp cut on a 45 degree angle. I usually rough clip the cutting, remove whatever material I want to remove, and then do the final 45 degree cut right before I insert into medium. I use rockwool cubes. No clonex or other additives. I presoak the rockwool in a fairly weak calmag solution and PH to 5.8-ish. In my experience, it makes no difference if the lighting is moderate or weak. It's all about the temps - low to mid 80's. It's fine to get up even as high as 90. Once you get into the mid 70's, it starts taking a lot longer. Humidity dome. That's it. Super simple and 100% success rate.

And don't waste your time getting cute by cutting the ends off of the leaves.

I use a dome for the propagator.

This was I think 2nd or 3rd time of cutting the same clones I took originally


Original cuts first rooted into coco again cut and planted.

I use rockwool still. Dip and stab. Place in 2 clear star bucks cups for 3-5 days. Airing out once in between. Usually about 10 days I have roots everywhere. Oh and I ph 5.8 cubes with superthrive. Idk if that helps. But I place em in coco. So I figure 5.8 give ‘em that start. I could be wrong on that part.
iv done coco in mouth wash cups. Like home made root riots. Worked great. I also keep my cuts around 81-85f. Ambient. Depending how hot the day is. And my tents rh is usually around 50% naturally. But I can increase it to 70%. Which can speed up roots as well.
