This Journal is open to comments. Just keep the negative opinions on the medium to yourself for now as it’s mixed and planted already lol...

Well. It’s about time to begin my second grow. Excited and nervous. I set the bar pretty high for myself on the first one so naturally I’m prolly headed down lmao...

Lights/Equipment
2X SonoFarm Pro 2000 (200watt each)
4in in-line fan and carbon filter
1 floor oscillating fan for lower level circulation
1 small fan for light panels
1 small fan for upper canopy
3 gallon fabric pots

- Strawberry Pie Auto (Fast Buds)
- Gorilla Skittlez Auto (Barney’s)
- Wedding Cake Auto (Barney’s)
- Purple Punch 1 Auto (Barney’s Freebie)
- Green Crack Photo (ILGM) trying to improve the flowers from my first grow

- Final Medium
- 40% Coco Coir + Perlite
- 30% Peat + Perlite
- 20% Earth Worm Castings
- 10% Grow Stones (Bottom of pot)
- Down to Earth 444 - 2tbsp per gallon (2cups)
- Down to Earth Insect Frass - 1tbsp per gallon (1cup)
- Down to Earth Dolomite Lime - 1tbsp per gallon (1cup)
- Mykos Mycorrhiza - 2tbsp per gallon (2cups)
- Humic Acid - A bunch...

This is day 2 from planting the seeds in medium (nothing has popped up yet). All seeds germinated (100%) but the Wedding cake seed just cracked open last and is 2 days behind (as well as green crack). Put a bit of Mykos and Humic/Fulvic acid in the hole with the seeds and watered with PH 6.2 water.

Completely chancing it on this medium but trying to take all the Pros of Peat and Coco and smash them together in some sort of a balance. The green crack I might put in 100% Coco though. It’s still in the jar of water lol. The plan w the green crack is to mainline again or just train the shit out of it for 3 months while the autos grow. When I harvest them I’ll put it dead center and flower it all alone.

I really didn’t want to post another journal but if it’s a huge failure I want it on the record haha. For myself and others to see and for learning purposes.

Cheers y’all and happy growing. Fingers crossed bongsmilie

Seedlings are 5 days old right now
I ended up pulling two because of germination issues and currently have 3 plants looking nice and healthy. I popped two gorilla skittles in water and am going to plant both as well. I lost a gorilla and a straw pie.

Didn’t feel like dealing with the humidity of the room and tent right now (pain) so I found some awesome domes at the dollar store

Readings inside the domes have been
75 degrees/75%RH with a hole cut at the top.
They seem happy... I grabbed a VPN chart and I’m sitting dead center so pretty amped about that. PAR reading inside the dome is at 325 and I’ll prolly leave it there for a bit till I remove the dome and they get a node or two going...

Nothing to report they’re most likely working on their root system right now. There’s a bunch of Humic acid and mykos in there so I assume it’s going well down there.

I’ll post some seedling photos today after work and they’ll prolly need a bit of water. Plan is PH’d to 6.2.

Coco/peat seemed to be in perfect condition for a healthy watering. Decided to toss in a tiny amount of calmag to be on the safe side even though they don’t need anything right now most likely...
- 2ml/gallon.
shook it up and it stayed at 6.0 so I left it there. Sprinkled a very tiny amount of Humic acid around their base, put some of the cal/mag mix in a spray bottle and misted them. Misted the soil to dampen it. Then watered all three pots thoroughly but not till runoff. Popped the domes back on and we’ll see if they get pissed for some reason or take it in stride lol

Noticed the temp was up from 75 to 77 so I turned on the tiny hurricane pointed at the top of the led panels. Here are a couple pics (before the watering)

Well the Gorilla Skittlez both cracked open so they went into the paper towel and the Green Crack (Photo) is about 1/4in long so went into the same soil mix but in a clay pot for now. She’ll be grown as LARGE as I can. Vs the first time when I mainlined the piss outta her and tied her to the ground haha.

I decided to remove the domes from the seedling till the medium and their leaves dry up a bit...

7 days old.
Temps at 73/75
Humidity at 42% no dome, w/ dome 77%

Without the humidity domes on my tent chills at 40% humidity. NOT what I want lol. Upgraded my old loud 4in online fan to an AC Infinity 6in cloudline and went with the S so I could upgrade to the 67 controller and have the Bluetooth graphs. I know my 4in wouldn’t be able to handle flowering most likely and now I can use the old 4in on my 2x2x4 tent to house a mother plant if I ever want. Hoping the new fan allows me to tighten up the environment more as the grow progresses (I know it won’t help with humidity much at all). My first grow my plants were like triple this size at 10 days and my RH was like 35% the whole time so I don’t know what to think anymore ... I’ll throw up pics of the girls later today when I get the fan installed. The n00b in me is really coming out at this stage with all the lack of growth and hopefully root development lol.

Well I’ve had a hell of a time with the environment. Everything’s pretty steady at 45% RH and 68-72 degrees. But I can’t get the temps higher. So screw it for now. Plants seem typical for how old they currently are. Slight yellowing but nothing crazy. Went full noob on them yesterday for the watering and gave them a pick me up haha

- 1 tbsp per gallon (3) of 4-4-4 fert.
- 1 tbsp per gallon (3) of insect frass
- 1 tsp Mycorrhiza
- 1 tsp humic/fulvic acid
- tiny shake of rooting powder

Mixed it all up, top dressed it into the medium and watered in with,

2ml blackstrap molasses
2ml fish sh!t
3ml calmag
PH was 6.5

This was yesterday early morning. Checked again midday and again before bed. Before bed some of the slight yellowing seemed to be gone. This morning they looked pretty good. When I checked this morning though the pots were pretty dry (nothing crazy like a dessert but much much drier than I would have thought based on previous waterings. They must have been crazy thirsty. I gave them water at 6.8 that also still had the remaining calmag, fish shit, etc in it. They didn’t all go through the whole gallon the day before. I was very surprised to see how much they drank. Today when I get home if they look happy I know we’re on the right track. If they look pissed then obviously I f’ed up ha.
I’m trying to keep in mind that I went light on the fert amendments in the premixed pots and everything is kind of a week behind with dry amendments as well, if not longer. So I just assume they’ll need this food boost a week from now. And I might try and small dose amend each week vs using larger amounts every 3 weeks.
The coco peat mix is kind of a pain to just the watering with an I slightly regret it but I shall push forward lol. Pics today when I get home

Day 12 from the surface

First three pics are from yesterday’s feeding. The rest are their current form. All three main plants are forming their 5 finger leaves. The green crack is like a week or something behind the rest and the gorilla Skittlez is maybe 2 days above the soil. Terrible luck the the gorilla Skittlez. Other one hasn’t breached the surface and I assume it’s dead just like the first attempt. Might let them know I’m basically 1 for 3 and this one doesn’t look so great either.

plants seem okkkk I guess. They aren’t really perky or praying and seem a little sad but nothing crazy. Might post the wedding cake in a diff area and see if anyone can identify what kind of stress it had by the leaves. Soil is still damp so def no water till tomorrow. I’ll go back to plain watering tomorrow.

Day 13 night time training

no water needed. Temps are low. Been around 67/68 all day. Horrible. Definitely slowing growth. Just threw a quilt over the top of the tent to try and hold some heat in. Anyway screw it and I’m going to start LST early on these ladies. Two are on node 3 and one is on node 2.
First three pics are from 4am this morning. Next set is from the training just now. Didn’t bother keeping the stem straight. Just pulled them down to see if they responded well. Might make some adjustments tomorrow.

Some of the fan leaves adjusted back to vertical position but there isn’t enough plant to actually “right itself” lol. They seem fine but growth is still very slow. Got temps up to 71 degrees 52% humidity. Added another hook to help correct the stem and I’ll leave them alone for a bit now. Will adjust the hooks so the stems are more perfectly vertical later on

Day 17
69-71 degrees/60% RH

Girls are starting to take off after what seemed like a slow, root building start. Spilled some nute mix on one of the leaves and it made a couple spots but all the new growth is lovely and all three seems to be doing well. They seem to have not been bothered by the LST, even at such an early age. Gave them a bunch of organic soil building crap and fish stuff for their last watering and all went well.
I have some white milky looking stuff that is dry on top of the soil which I assume is just beneficial soil biology (I’ve been giving them the works ha). No signs of pests yet either.
In the coco peat mix they seem to be happier when I let the medium dry up a lot more than I feel comfortable. I know it’s bad to let coco dry out because the EC raises as well as the PH or something like that. But with almost the same amount of peat in there and the lime to help buffer I must be ok with less frequent watering. No clue. They should have been watered this morning imo but I’m letting them go the extra 10 hours while I’m at work and giving them fresh and clean PHd water afterward. I have a spare 3gal pot thats filled and identical (seed didn’t make it lol). So I know the true dry pot weight. If I stick my finger down into the medium it’s not wet, and almost not really “moist” but it’s black and you can feel that there’s water being held...and I’m sure more farther down as well. It seems the more I let them dry between waterings or feedings the closer the get to fully “praying” which they were almost doing this morning. So hopefully when I get home they’re pin straight and angled upward.

I picked up a PPM meter yesterday and poured some of the solution I had just given them into a cup to test. It read at only 200 PPM. I was thinking it would be at like 800?! There’s molasses, fish shit, some natures seaweed/kelp, calmag+, humic acid, and I think that was it lol. Gunna post in the normal threads to see if that sounds right. But I guess that’s why they didn’t get pissed at all lol

Pics are from yesterday afternoon

Day 17 evening
Watering day
Sliced off an aloe branch, filleted it, chopped up the skin and blended it in the vitamix with 2 cups of water. Diluted it in 2 gallons of distilled water and PH’d to 6.6.

Gave the first watering to runoff. Maybe 5-10%. Hopefully they can take the medium being that saturated.

Also going to check the PAR on the lights since they’re in early veg now technically and maybe they can handle 100% at 38” lol. It’s currently at 80% and I believe 375 PAR.

Plants still can’t handle 100% power. Jesus lol. Got some slight leaf burn trying to push it but nothing crazy. Dialed it back to 80%
Temps and humidity have been pretty solid. They seem to be growing pretty well and decently quickly but I still can’t get them “praying toward the lights”. I really love how that looks. Looks like HEALTH lol. Removed the ties last night to let them stretch out a bit. Will post pics on day 21

They look good, dont over think. There fine. You probably wont be able to go full power until flip so be patient.
Ah ok cool will do! I just always see people’s lights at like 24” and stuff and mine are maxed out in my tent lmao so I was thinking my plants were being littles wusses hahaha...patience. Got it.

Everything looks good! Regarding your PPM... TDS is totally dissolved solids.. Organics break down in the soil so they aren't dissolved and can't be measured accurately.. Thought you might want to know! Carry on..

Day 26

Woke up to the girls looking pretty happy and upright after an evening of decently heavy LST. Been slacking on the journal so I’ll see what I can remember

2 days ago they received an aerated compost tea. I removed the ties to let them breath a bit. And 24 hours later I retied them all down in different spots and removed some lower older leaves to clear out for airflow.

Runoff for the plants is between 6.1-6.3.

Soil PH (Slurry mix) is between 6.5-6.8.

The plan right now is to give them a couple waterings with just light additives (calmag, fish sh!t, and low doses). Let them use up what’s in the medium so I can see how they’re acting. Then most likely a top dressing of 75% 4-4-4, and 25% bloom amendments. That should carry them into week 4 and toward week 5 nicely. Then 50/50 4-4-4 and Bloom nutes. They have all shown their sex now but I’m ready for a good heavy veg and stretch this next week and a half before they start really throwing pistils...

I need to start paying attention to the seedlings in the back. Green Crack in the clay pot will need a bigger home soon and is ready to start being mainlined. Gorilla skittlez is coming along but a little pale. Will check her out this afternoon.

Pics are rig to after LST last night and then this morning

I checked the Journal and it’s been 14 days since their last small topdressing of 4-4-4. I haven’t been giving the 2-4tbsps of fert per gallon like most people do. I was planning to more frequently amend with 1tbsp a week or so. The plants have seemed fine and the compost tea had some Neem Meal and Insect Frass in it so some nutes were provided there. Along with fish/kelp emulsion, and calmag has N in it as well. Going to let them cruise on the tea another couple days and re-amend maybe Friday morning.
Anyone thinking the 75%/25% ratio is a good call or keep this as the last full 4-4-4 feeding?
OR go with a full FULL feeding of 3tbsps? I was going to easy them into the bloom nutes so they break down a week ahead of when the plant will need them etc.

Day 27, will post photos tomorrow for hitting week 4...

Re-tied anything that needed adjusting on the three plants. Mainly just the top branch. Seems to be growing a whole node each day now. Lots of leaf weaving and tucking, lower branches are really starting to pick up speed and catch the top of the plant. Still bushy af and seem to be very healthy. Not the best “pin straight leaves” or praying look but very healthy.

Green crack, my only photoperiod plant. Getting “topped” today and it’s lower canopy stripped of excess foliage (leaving the main fan leaves only this time. Creating a nice manifold like I did with it on the first grow. Nostalgic... she got watered and going back in the tent. Watered till runoff. Checked the PPM and PH of the runoff. PH was excellent at 6.6. PPM was WAY too high at 1200 lmao. Should be at like 700-800 I think but no clue PPM is new to me and this is also organics so I’m kind of just checking to see where it’s at (even though it’s probably not even accurate because of the organics ha). She got a little bit of calmag+ and a little seaweed/fish emulsion. But, No more feeding for these halflings just PH’d water. It’s organics so they’ll prolly be fine but nice to know it’s on the high side so their growth stage. The GC will be transplanted maybe tomorrow or this weekend. Might go 3gal. Then transplant again to 7-10 gal while I veg her out more then flip to flower. Going to try and grow her BIG. I’ve never had a big plant before lol

June 5, Day 29

First full feeding
3tbsp per gallon (9) top dress
50/50 vegbloom nutes

3tbsp - 4-4-4
2tbsp - 6-2-1

4tbsp - 3-9-4
2tbsp - Insect Frass

1 cup worm castings

Watered in with fish/seaweed extract and Fish Sh!t. PH 6.

Absolutely was probably way too much food but I can’t stop feeding them. Going to do a heavy watering after they dry up and get a good runoff.

Plants were pretty droopy yesterday morning (Sunday) after the previous feeding the night before. This morning they look perkier. Might have been from the heavy watering.

Checked for the mites under my new loupe. Zero signs of mites… no fucking clue what the issue is with these plants. I can’t get them to full health so I’m going to back off and just leave them alone (while still checking for mites). Did a light defoliation this morning since they seemed to be better than yesterday. No clue how much bottom stuff I should be removing because they’re just so squat and bushy. Just leaving it. I definitely over complicated this whole run. Never again lol.
