So especially with smart pots or any type of fabric pot, it's really beneficial to get your containers up off the ground. I'm a huge fan of milk crates because they obviously allow the bottom of your fabric pots to breathe. The only issue with these is watering can become a pain in the ass and make a huge mess. A buddy of mine works at a water treatment center and they've been installing a ton of softeners. He gave me a couple of these round brine tank lids and they allow a standard sized milk crate to fit inside perfectly. You can obviously go buy a bunch of overpriced saucers, but if you live close to a company that installs water softeners, they'll more than likely have a ton of these laying around and most of the time they just go straight in the dumpster.
