Crop King Gelato vs. BAG SEED!!

Hello everyone, this is my first grow in 8 years and I am READY! I have 2 feminized Gelatos and 4 bag seed queens going. At the moment they are rooted in Organic Miracle Gro soil under a 120 watt Cree daylight bulb with a dome. I have a 27x27x63 Mars Hydro tent. These ladies will be vegged under a 400 watt mh which I may dim down to 200 or 300 depending on how effectively this 4 inch cfm fan can remove the heat. I always give the girls 7 days of low light right after germination so they can get their roots kinda situated before I hit them with the HID POWER. I plan on a 21 day veg and then flip. I am going to top as soon as I see the 5th node. This will be an organic grow and I will be using my own homemade water only soil mix after I transplant into my flowering buckets. I have the light them 24 hrs now but I will switch to 20/4 once I put them under the big light Saturday. Wish me luck...

After the first full day under the 400 watt mh they seem to be adjusting well. I decided to go totally organic this grow because I wanted the highest quality buds on my first grow back. I forgot about how slow organic growing could be, I think I will veg using Miracle Gro MC next run and THEN switch to my homemade, water only soil for flower. That should eliminate the slower veg time and not really effect the quality of the buds at the end. I think the flush will be key. Here is a pic of the ladies tonight, 8 days from seed. The two on the right are Gelato from Crop King and the 5 on the left are random bagseed that I just loooove. The one little lady at the front of the bagseed crew was a late riser but I decided to give her a shot...what the hell!!

The Gelatos are the the top and bottom on the right. They are looking good but the bagseed plants are KILLING them right now. LoL...they have 16 more days to get ready for the flip.

13 days from seed. Organic Miracle Gro top dressed with blood meal...dats it. Watered with straight tap water. These plants are thriving. I know alot of growers don't like Miracle Gro but this Miracle Gro Performance Organics is the TRUTH. I haven't grown a plant in 8 years so I decided to go organic my first run, more room for error. I saw this bag in Wal Mart and decided to give it a try. It is certified organic so I was like wth. I am more than impressed. I put 5 bagseed and 2 Crop King Gelatos in this dirt and ALL OF THEM ARE HAPPY AS HELL. I ain't gone do a commercial but I AM going to try and help some new growers save some money. That is at least two different strains that LOOOVE this dirt.

Quick update. The 400 watt mh/hps was too hot for this 27x27x63 tent, I couldn't keep the temp under 90 so I had to get a new light. I went with the mixjoy gl2000 and so far so good, temps holdin steady at 73f and the plants seem to be loving it. One of the Gelatos got snapped while rearranging my tent so I popped the other 3. The Gelatos are on the right and the bagseed are on the left. Two of them are getting topped in the morning because they are just too damned tall. 6 more days b4 I switch to 12/12, the new Gelatos will be moved to a separate area to continue vegging.

Quick update: I transplanted into final pots yesterday. The Gelatos are all doing fine but the bagseed are all over the place. Root bound and deficient but since the transplant they seem to be recovering. This mixjoy gl2000 light is amazing by the way! Due to the root bound issues I think I'm going to veg another week, the oldest gelato has some clones at the bottom that just may be worth the wait.

I just gotta give a shout out to Crop King and Rocket Seeds, their feminized Gelato strain is so far the BEST strain I have ever seen grow! The first picture was taken at exactly 7 days from seed (March 28th), the second picture was taken a few minutes ago, exactly 13 days from seed (April 3rd). I don't know how well they will produce during flower but up until this point they have had AMAZING growth and stability. Once again, HATS OFF TO CROP KING.

Even though this is my first grow in 8 years the thrill is still there like I never stopped. Every grow is different and something unexpected always happens, whether good or bad the shit just HAPPENS. This grow is not an exception...this plant is one of 5 bagseed plants that I started along with the Crop King Gelato plants. Of all the bagseed plants this one is my absolute favorite! It stayed low, the leaves grew fat and green like I like em, even though it got root bound in the solo cups she came back niiiicelyyy. Now here is where it gets interesting...after I transplanted it into it's final pot it began to lean and when I say lean I mean LEEEAN. It's almost like the plant said to me "Here you go Sir, this is what you should have done but since you didn't do it I'll do it for you". It actually LSTed itself for me! LoL...today I removed one single PHATT ass fan leaf that was blocking the light from getting to all the secondary shoots that are coming from the stem. I swear I hope this plant is female because if she is she is going to be something special!!

These plants have been under 24 hour light since they were born, today was the first time they have EVER seen any extended period of darkness and it shows!! The tops and the new growth woke up PALE AS HEYULLL!! It's amazing to watch the light turn them back dark green almost right before my eyes. Nature is amazing...
