Curing Faux Pas

For the hell of it I checked the humidity in some storage jars I filled up 5 months ago, it was 72%.
Ut oh. No sign of mold or decay though, so I put the 20oz in paper bags, and will let it dry a little more.
If this doesn't work I'll just cook with it, but do you all think it can be saved?

I should have known there was an issue when my grinder seized up from resin clog.

On another note, I just read of a dispensary grower that dries to 15% to 20% for his customers.
Any thoughts on this?

If it's not molded then it's fine. look good with a scope if you have one.

The smell should be an indicator to mildew/mold

No weird smell or material degradation. I even took apart some of the buds.

Customers don't wanna pay for water. I know that I hate getting bud that is too moist to burn in a joint or blunt without having to keep relighting it.

I've always been told to hold the moisture at 55 to 65%, but I've also had dispensary bud that I know was extremely dry, but was very potent and good tasting.
What to do, what to do, lol

I like mine really dry. It just burns so nice and easy, intense hits though. I am a one hitter guy, I don't like burning bud thats already had the flavor knocked off it. I like to load nice crispy dry one hitters and hit em hard and fast. you can pack em tight and they don't get plugged easy like with moist bud. If you wanna cure then you need moisture but I like the flavor my bud has right off the vine so I don't worry about that. It's all about what YOU like. I have friends that like their bud a little moist so it goes out in their bowl when they are staring into space lol.

If you do over dry bud and don't like it that way, just toss a few nice fresh fan leaves in the jar with the dry bud. In about 12 - 24 hours it will bring back the moisture and let you cure longer. So it is reversible, mold however not so much.

15-20% is way too dry. Would be a brittle crumbly mess and when you get herb that dry you lose a lot of the terpenes and they wont be replaced by adding moisture back to your jars. Even when dried to around 55% the herb is starting to get too dry.

Get some Boveda 62 packs. They're a godsend.

I think there's a company that make them at the ideal 58% now although I can't comment as I've not used them yet.

I found this article on MC and RH but it still doesn't quite answer my question because it seems to me that RH will affect MC in
the fully cured buds.

MC is more relevent for lab testing, as it effects your test numbers. Homegrowers should stick with using RH and stay between 55-62% RH.

I personally think Boveda packs are garbage and effect the smell of your cannabis. Some people seem to really like them though. I've heard the integra brand packs are better than bovedas.

I brought the RH down to 52%. If it doesn't smoke well, I'll just make edibles with it. I have plenty of other weed left to smoke,
and will be harvesting more today.
