I’m ready to cut and hang, lights come back on at 7 tonight! Should I cut while dark or wait till lights come on for a bit. Of course there going in a dark wardrobe box?? Does it matter?

How long does it take to cut down the plant? Does the plant still have water and nutrients in the stems and stalk? Will the leaves not draw on it without the roots present? Does that mean you have to cut in the dark and not let light shine on it till cured?

OK how fare will you take it? A bit of cork sniffing as far as I am concerned, you are not going to alter the plant with a few photons while it is waiting impending doom. But then again, I ain't that fussy.

It doesn't take anything extra to leave it in the dark for 24 hours before chopping.
It also helps simulate extream winter months coming, it shocks the plant alittle and promotes and overdrive of resin to help attract pollen and become seeded before the end of the season. Partnered with low temps you can bring out some really good colors in that last little bit, check out some videos on "fading".

There was a time I spent the effort to do some of the purported harvest techniques and TBH, from an old potheads point of view, seldom does any of the harvest gyrations of dark, drown, starve, cut stalk, etc make much difference more than spending energy trying to keep that particular protocol on schedule.
That being said, I still like to try different things just to keep my old ass busy but I still think us old potheads ain't gonna know much difference regardless. Personally harvest timing has been my preferred technique as I can get a good "up" and "down" off the same plant...
