DemonTrich Grow Journal-- BF Laughing Budda and BF Pineapple Chunk from seed

So this is my grow journal. I will be starting from seed on this one. Barneys Farm Laughing Budda and Pineapple Chunk.

i just picked these 2 strains at random. actually, i LOVE pineapple express, so i figured PC would be even better. and Laughing Budda, who doesnt love a laughing budda? lol and it looks sick, all purple and shit. i will try and keep everything detailed and specific to help out the next guy if he needs it. this is my first grow, and first time growing anything. i grew a little twig of a mmj plant in my closet when i was younger, and got caught by my parents. i know, stupid. lol




MEDIUM:
seedlings- FF light warrior
clones/uppotting- FFOF

nutes:
havent decided. might use HTG's tea (free on tuesdays) either way will go ALL organic!!!!!

Water:
18 gallon container w/20-60gallon double bubbler air pump (oxygenating h2o and removing chloride and chlorine)

VEG TENT:
4x4x7 secret jardin DR120 (dark room) tent
ventech 6" 440cfm fan paired to a XL a/c cool tube hood w/fan speed controller at 50% (77*max temp 24% max humidity in testing)
duct/fan/duct/tent/duct/hood/duct/tent/duct air is pushing over socket then out
dimmable electronic ballast
8" 550cfm booster exhaust fan
5" 250cfm booster intake fans for circulation
white panda film floor (tent comes w/black floor, not mylar )

Flower tent:
4x4x7 secret jardin dr120
ventech 6" 440cfm fan paired to a XL a/c cool tube hood w/fan speed controller
ventech 6" 440cfm fan paired to a 6" inlet x 8"w x 24"l DIY carbon scrubber (125oz of activated charcoal) w/ fan speed controller (scrubber/fan/duct/tent/duct)
8" 550cfm booster fan fresh air intake
2 16" oscillating fans
white panda film floor

Grow i sin my basement. ambient basement temps are a consistant (year round) 65-70* tops w/ 24% humidity.

popped my seeds on 5/3/13 at 5pm

popped in room temp h2o in seperate glass's and placed in cupboard over night (24hrs)

3 of 10 seeds popped a tad.

now they are in a tupperware container w/lid (cracked, and has excellent moisture/humidity) wrapped in paper towel (over night) on top of my suround sound receiver.

5/5 laughing budda popped (about 2-3mm poking out)
2/5 of the pineapple chunk popped (about 2mm poking out)

gonna leave them all in the paper towel for 24 more hrs, then they are going into 1qt pots with light warrior. then placed in my flower tent with a dual 4' daylight shop light beaming down on them, placed about 2" from top of pots. im expecting some clones for veg tent, or the seeds will go in veg tent if no clones.

im glad all 5 LB popped, kinda worried about the PC. 2/5 isnt that great of a ratio.


sorry, not much to see. ill snap a pic of the seeds popping before planting on the pots. somethings is better than nothing i guess. i will also keep thurough log books in my grow rooom, feeding schedule, nute dif, ect.

all 10 seeds popped. this morning i put them in my seed starter tray, on a heat mat, under the humidome in my veg tent. i have a dual 4' daylight bulb shop light on them as close to the top of the dome as i can and watered with ph'd water. gonna mist them 2x daily. once seedings appear and get about 4", out comes the flourescent light and on comes the veg light, and the seedling will be up-potted with light warrior soil. or as soon as i see roots come out the bottom of the seedling styrofoam tray.

5/11 update


3 of the LB and 3 of the PC are doing very well. they are all about 4" tall and have 2 sets of leaves (small leaves, but their there). they are potted in FFLW soil, still under the humidome and on a heat mat. vents opened very slightly. and under a T8 6500k daylight- dual 4' 12" hooded shop light (24/7), with a clip fan running in my tent for some air circulation.

1 more LB seed is about 1/2" sprout from seed starter plug under dome and mat. the other 3 seeds popped, but no signs of life. i either messed them up, or they were DOP (dead on Popped). im guessing it was me who killed them.

still watering them with PH'd water from my bubbler water res. usually watering them every other day, or when the pots feel light. ill get a pic when i do my nightly check of my babies. i check them at 5am before work, and 6pm after work.

Reading this makes me feel like such a turd! Lol I am skimming these journals and I am so far below you guys..

for sure 2 of the PC are duds. 1 for sure on the LB. 1 still holding on to hope for the other LB.

just put the 6 seedlings under the 600w light 3' from tops.

Subbed looks like a nice set up I was just wondering if it is a dimmable ballast and if so r u running it 50% or r u running it at the full 600

i have a dimmable ballast. but im running at 100%. i ended up raising the xl cool tube hood to about 4' above the seedlings just as a further precaution. my temps are 75* max and 35% r/h with lights on. with lights off i have 66* temps and 46% r/h. i ran all night (18/6), checked in the am before work, all looked ok. just checked a few mins ago (lights out is 11am/5pm), and all looks good. soil is still moist, so gonna check again tomorrow to see if i need to water the girls.

if i burn them and fak them up, oh fakin well (sorry im in a real shitty mood). i can secure some clones rather easily. 1 more week and il have 4 pineapple express clones from my old CG im gonna run till the babies get bigger.

got my tds meter today and my ph tester tomorrow.

ppm feeding water is 103. this is aerated tap water with a 125gph bubbler.

LB and PC still doing ok today. I acquired 3 NL13 rooted clones, and 10 NL13 cuttings today from a buddy. so those are in the tent with the PC and LB. all under 24/7 t8 6500k lights.

2 of the PC and 2 of the LB are doing great!!!! nice green color and looks lively once again. have 2 sets plus another set forming now on all 4. I have 1 of each not doing so well. I think they are past reviving. I did hit them with a watering of superthrive (aka superjive) in hopes they will spring back to life. I also topped off the 4 pots with FFOF to add a small amount of nutes to the babies, then watered with 6.0 water. for the clones, I also topped off the solo cups with a small amount of FFOF, then watered. the cuttings (still in the starter plugs) misting 3x a day with water.

this mornings update. the 2 LB and 2 PC are doing EXCELLENT and are LOVING the top dressing of FFOF soil. I think they just needed a little nute boost to spur on some new and vibrant growth. ill post up some pics after work today. the 6500k t8 lights are still on 24/7, and the dome and heat mat are on as well. I cracked open the vents a tad to get some fresh air in. as for the 2 sick/possibly dead seedlings: 1 is 99% gone. no change after the watering with superthrive. the other has a 50/50 chance of making it. its still green, lol. ill give the 2 of them 4 more days, then they get pulled and tossed out.
the NL13 cuttings are doing well as well. not roots showing out of the bottom of the plug yet. spraying them 2-3x daily with 6.0-6.5 ph'd water. I have my 25 cloner machine coming on Friday. I might move them to the cloner. not sure if it would be ok or to just leave them in the dome and heat mat.
the 3 nl13 clones are doing ok also. some new growth. out of the 10 or so I got, ill be happy with 5 that are keepers.

not in the pics---- i have one of them that is a goner. still gonna giver her one more day to see if she will pull thru. one other one is making a come-back. she new growth on top (fingers crossed).

everything is under 2-4' T8 6500k bulbs 24/7. the seedlings and cuttings are under a humidome (both vents cracked a small bit), and are sitting on a heat mat (couple wash cloths seperating them. dont wanna get them too hot). all are in my tent, and have 2 5" clip on fans to get some air circulating, and 2 tent vents open.

nl13 cuttings:
i got my cloner machine in yesterday and with the help of hugo (thanks again), got things rolling in a new direction for the cuttings. i moved them from the starter tray/humidome/heat mat and into the 25 site cloner. i put a 78* water heater in the cloner as my basement temps are chilly (65* ambient temps). added 8ml or regent a root hormone to the res.

nl13 clones:
clones are looking great. new growth on top. they are loving the top dressing of FFOF, and are using the nutes very well. the yellowing of 2 leaves are going away and a nice green color and nice smell are evident.

Pineapple chunk and laughing budda seedlings:
well 2 of each are doing EXCELLENT!!! great growth on all 4. 2 of them are really taking off. 4 to 8 sets of leaves. albiet small, but there present. i also topped the containers up with FFOF and are LOVING the nutes. the day after watering new growth is present. they do seem to be stretching a bit tho. and not sure if i should remove the humidome, or leave it on. i tossed one that was a goner. i have another one im nursing back to health. she has some very small new top growth, and hoping for a recovery (fingers crossed). also, lights are still on 24/7 with the 2-4' 6500k t8 bulbs. they are about 4" stretch. i already buried the stems a bit a few weeks ago due to stretch. if anyone cares to comment on what to do next with the seedlins, please chime in. looking for info about removing humidome, and uppotting to a 1 gallon pot.

thanks everyone for taking the time to look at my grow progress.

went and bought another shop light, as i think something was getting short changed on the ammount of light it should have been given. got another t8 2-4' fixture w/6500k bulbs. i have 1 light over the cuttings in the cloner machine, and the rooted clones in solo cups, the other light is got the 5 seedlings under the dome. i have some visible roots showing out the drain holes on 4/5 seedling containers.

6/1 update

i transplanted everything today.

the 2 PC and 2 LB seedlings went into 1.5 gallon pots. i put 1" worth of rocks on the bottom, then filled the rest with FFOF mix soil (FFOF 1.5cu' added 1 1/4 cups powdered dolomite lime and 1/3rd bag of perlite). also watered with 6.5 ph'd water.

the 3 NL13 rooted clones i got went into 3 gallon containers w/1" rocks and FFOF soil, then watered.

the 8 cuttings (now well rooted inn the cloner) went into 1/2 gallon containers w/1 layer of rocks, then filled with FFOF soil, then watered.

i turned on the big 600w light for them. no more t8's. 18/6 schedule. just dialing in my temps now. running 2* hotter than i would like. running 79*, like it to be 77*.
