I have read the FAQ on this and searched some threads, but how many of you clone directly into soil consistently. Any tips you can give me?

I have done it, although I'm a hydro grower now. It is perfectly possible... the best advice I can give you is, patience.

Sorry, that's wrong... you said 12.5mm clones, not 17mm... my bad.

Can I ask how you handled such a TINY clone? You do realise how big 12.5mm is?

That depends how far into flower they were. You should still have succeeded, all that happens is that when you try to grow them without a proper revert to veg', they grow stunted.

Chances are it is your environment that failed you, as this is the SINGLE most important factor in cloning.

I've actually rooted leaves before, so I suppose it's not THAT unreasonable to think that you rooted a 12.5mm clone... it's just as I picture it in my head, I'm having problems holding onto the thing. Did you have to use tweezers?

no i think tweezers would crush it but it was a bitch the way my hands shake and in the process i managed to knock over a freshly opend brand new bottle of clonex and now i have a brand new freshly opend half a bottle of clonex kinda made me wish i took that half a jawn of Olivia's my frnd offerd me later that day

I'm going to give it a try using Olivia's Cloning Gel. I have some rockwool, but I can't get used to the stuff.

The best advice I can give for cloning - regardless of the medium, is to keep them humid.

Mist them several times a day, or use some sort of dome to keep the humidity high.

Keep it up for the first week, then all should be good
