Dispensaries List Is Out,,,What A Joke

The state chose the operators of dispensaries today. What a shock, all the dispensaries are going to a total of 3 organizations.

One group w/ California roots has 4 of the states dispensaries, so 1 out of state group will control 1/2 of ALL the states dispensaries........hmmmm nothing fishy there.......None of the six applicants for a York County dispensary were considered qualified under the state's scoring criteria. LOL

Absolute, complete and utter FAIL!!!!!!


I thank all those that worked hard to get the laws passed, but this is a joke at best. Between the DEA raids, no dispensary in my county and all the other obstacles the state has managed to put in place, I'll stay underground where it seems to be safer. Plus I dont have a $1,000,000 to grease the right palms.

Good luck on the ballot initiatives for the next election cycle, hope they arent as much of fucking joke as this one was.

The state allows for a total of 8 dispensaries in the entire state. They gave 1/2 of those licenses to a group from California. The same company has already stated they will charge "black market" prices. Meaning they are gonna sell bud for the same price I can get it anywhere in the town I live in.

The Maine DEA has been raiding registered caregivers in the state. They want to force caregivers out of the system through the fear of being raided, high fees and state inspections of your home........they have shut out Maine people in favor of big organizations from out of state. This will backfire, why would I travel to pay the same price from some out of state organization?

There was no dispensary approved for my county, meaning I have a drive of at least 1 hour to get to the nearest dispensary.

To be blunt, this is a joke on the people of my state, they bamboozled us and we fell for it again.

Fuck the dispensaries, fuck the state raping the law and most of all fuck out of state tourists getting ANY of my $.

Maine. Wow. Sorry bro. Sometime I drive hours upon hours for Elite cutting or good genetics but for some dry medicine, not sure but I might drive a half hour. Thats about it.

i had some friends who applied for york county. one of them didnt even receive a score for there application! i am willing to bet 100% that northeast patients group aka berkely patients group (cali) is going to be the only applicants to pay another $15,000 to re-apply and get york as well.

I find it sad that w/all the growers in our state that the bulk off the licenses went to out of state organizations........they want to squeeze caregivers right out of the equation............oh well,I'll stay underground just as I have for the past 2 decades......too bad,I'dbe more than happy to pay taxes on it all, but if they dont want it Ill keep the cash.

Caregivers should unite and form co ops. A bunch of caregivers get together under one facility and keep their individual grows locked up from the each other(complying with Maine law). This is how you drive those Californian dispensaries out of "non-profit" business. Send them home with a lost investment and in the red! Grow your own if you can. If you can't, find a caregiver....I promise they care alot more about you than California does.

Its because the maine growers cant admit they have 30+ years of marijuana growing experience in the state. While the cali group can say they grew in cali for 6 months and get the license.Not sure why they didint give it out to 8 groups encouraging competition so people dont get shafted for their medication.

Its kind of like drugs to keep you off drugs. After doctor fees , lab fees for piss tests and the meds, its cheaper to buy the drugs off the street then legally from a pharmacy.

this bears repeating.

caregiver driven co-ops, dozens of caregivers for a hundred or so pateints, the co-op holds/distributes the medicine, so patients have a choice and local meds stay local grown. compassionate, reasonable and all local. this could be done all over the state with little to no oversite from the curroption in augusta.

Exactly, a great solution and would make me happier than the system we have now.....

LOL really? I havent heard a thing about it yet.....if there were enough around and people knew about them the dispensaries and their black market prices wouldnt stand a chance.


Im a little confused now....Im not sure which form my doc has to use, the old one or the new one requesting detailed medical information?

I dont mind filling out the old form they put out this spring, but the new one has too many specifics regarding my private health problems. Ive also been told there was a lawsuit pending to do away with such specific medical information, any knowledge about that?

My neurologist will not sign either form out of fear, my PCP will sign the old one, but he also has concerns about the new form. He agrees that it asks too many detailed and private questions...he also wonders if the state will even accept my application. I have Degenerative Arthritis in both knees and an Arachnoid Brain cyst that gives me insane migraines and muscle spasms. Neither is actually listed as an acceptable ailment, but both cause chronic pain and I have muscle spasms too.

nothing to forgive brother, its really god damn frustrating. Yeah I have issues that the state does not recognize, but I have physicians that do. (PTSD, insomnia, the ilk) its pretty frustrating how this is being regulated, or not, depending on how you look at it.
It has been suggested to me that the best course is a lower profile. Have the docs right a recommendation in your records, right a letter that says what you have and that they BELIEVE that mmj is a practical solution or remedy for your illness (you‘ll probably have better luck if you draft the letter for them, less work and all). Get this form notarized. Now I am trying to follow the law as best as I can with all the changes and amendments that are taking place. Let the state get its shit together, and don’t be the tall blade of grass.

as for the small co-ops that are being formed, as i understand it, nobody is making any money so it shouldn’t be a concern to the gov. and/or a D.A. the co-op (as a group) rents/buys a location and a few people (knowledgable, and more importantly capable)are designated caregivers and are responsible for going to the grow on schedule times and maintain it. but the crop is open for any memeber to go and visit at anytime (minus lights out), everybody owns an equal share, and all the numbers are state legal. So as I understand it'll work exactly like the old co-op food shops used too. All money out is for fert, and equip, and time is donated by those who are capable. All money in is truly by donation to the co-op not an individual, (which goes back to ferts and equip and rent). its a good set up, fair, legal, nothing shady.

The problem is, everybody is so damn scared (for good reason) that honest people can’t get in contact with a co-op and co-ops aren’t opening their membership up to outsiders, so these co-ops are literally 10-15 people small, plus a lawyer or two. and they are completely closed. Trust me, your frustration is felt by everyone. Me and my lawyer are looking for open co-ops, its hard and frustraiting..
