DIY Bubbleponic CLOSET GROW 4X2ft

Hello. Warezaholic here. Newish in here and have a question. Can videos get posted directly here or through a third party like Vimeo? See bottom text.

I had started growing around late Feb or early March. Ive had two semi- successful harvest's, one photo and one auto. Now my closet is full to overflowing with 4 plants (3 photoperiod and one auto).

Two photoperiod are starting to pre flower. One is a clone of a Quebec Gold and the other is a maturing Chemdog #4 as well as a 6 week old chem 4. The auto is a Kosher Kush @about 18 days.

I am planning a first attempt to get feminized seeds from all these strains! The auto is front center.

This picture shows my closet along with ceiling high double doors so the entire space is can open and close fully.

I have created a somewhat "unique" Bubbleponic bucket system that I would like to share with any Cheap-Ass, gheto growers like me.

I have several inventive modifications to my 6 inch AND 10 inch hydro netpots that make Bucket, contained BubblePonics a litteral BREEZE.

I HOPE A VIDEO WILL EXPLAIN BETTER THAN PICTURES.

Thanks. The left one is a clone of my failure Quebec Gold and the the one on the right side is a Chemdog #4 from seed. Both were topped at node 7 or 8.

The thing that excites me is how they are both entering the stipule phase at the "exact" same time. The smaller plants are - front is an autoflower kosher kush, the back center is baby chem4.

Im just now studying about making feminized seeds from each strain I wish to immortalize.

As far as my setup, it allows me to simply lift the plant and set it in a fresh, clean bucket and then reconnect the air hose And Done!.. then that's only at water changes; otherwise the water level is monitored via my floating drinking straw invention. I want to make a video and publish it so others can consider adopting my methods...

By stacking buckets, I can keep all the plants at their optimal distance from the lights at all times.

It's about time for a minor trimming on the big chem4.

Very nice. Old thread any updates? Looking to do something similar.
Are you completely automated? I travel a ton and am reluctant to go hydro next grow for this reason.
how often do youfind needing to change water? Or level ppms/ph?

@rkymtnman runs a similar set up using several waterfarm units and from what I've read in his posts he travels a lot and is able to pull it off. Maybe he can chime in and share some insight.

how often and how long is the big determining factor.
I have 2 rdwc systems that im fairly comfortable leaving unattended. The veg system could go for a month with auto top of of fresh water and a nutrient dosing system. I regularly ignore it for 2 weeks at a time as it is and usually only change my water once in a 6-8 week veg unless it starts smelling funky. If I had a way to remotely monitor ppm and adjust nutrient dosing (both are possible) id be comfortable being away from it for up to a month as long as I had someone I could get to intervene in case of massive failure.
My flower system im comfortable leaving for a week-10 days during transition and early flower, and up to 2 weeks once theyve stabilized a bit in bloom.

Well shoot, I definitely thought it would be every other day at the most, the furthest you’d go with out checking. But that’s my lack of experience talking.
I usually am on the road Thursday through early mondays, sometimes I get stuck up north for two weeks at random”hey can you cover this for us (phone calls from the boss)”

my lack of digging for automated systems. stopped at the tenth google search that just leads me to all the prebuilt $$$$$$$ “leaf” like systems.

so I had no idea.

ideal would to be able to test and dispense via WiFi? But then again you say at least 2 weeks even during flower so it wouldn’t really be necessary I assume.

With a properly built setup, you should 100% be able to do that imo. Its going to cost you some extra money on top of rdwc already being one of the most expensive setup costs because of bulkhead prices, pumps, and a chiller
You might have some issues at first, but once you get things dialed in and stable that would be no problem in my system. I just let my flower tent go for 9 days between major attention (had my wife adjust ph down once to be safe) during stretch. I had some catch up to do because I didnt prepare for it as much as I should have, but everything went great.
I should add that the first 3 weeks or so theyll need a bit more attention and with how rapidly things change during transition into flower, 1 week at a time is more ideal but with the right prep before you leave, 2 would still be doable, easy with the right budget.
For 5 days or two weeks, a holding tank that holds the same volume as your plants will drink of the same nutrient solution run to your system on a float valve will keep you going no problem. The work is finding this balance with your system for flower of how much that is and how big of a tank you need. I have a 6 site 55 gallon system, in that 9 days, my 6 plants drank the entire 55 gallon barrel. For the 2 week trips, id want to at least be able to adjust ph remotely or an automatic controller that just keeps it in a preset range.

If you wanna check out my stuff ive kept a pretty documented grow log of what I have going now. You'll see there's not much high-tech to it passed my monitor. Just a well sized system, a barrel, and a stable nutrient. Good example of what a longer unattended stretch without enough work before looks like, I just had surgery last week. Hope this was helpful! =)

All are crammed into my 4X2 ft closet. All are well into the flower stage starting to firm up into buds.

All buckets are Bubbleponic setup in individually contained buckets. Each plant is self contained with its own air pump and bubble stone. Each bucket has a diy *drinking straw* water level. A filling hole for accurate feeding and watering (no need to lift the plant to check the water).

The drinking straw is watertight at the bottom end. The PVC pipe is at least 1 or 2 inches below the required water level. Water changes only requires to lift the basket into a pre arranged new reservoir, reconnect the air stones and done

Thanks for the info and link man!! I would definitely see the importance to a large tank.
I would assume just out of logic with the larger double or triple the plants volume would help keep ph buffering in check? Or am I out on a limb.
Just think more volume less fluctuations.

Yes, more water = more stable all around. To a point at least.

Thanks for all the good feedback y'all...

My buckets are ALL independently seperate from one another. With no common reservoir, each bucket has a "seperate air supply and air stone. I own 3 Whisper deep water Air Pumps. Makes reservoir water changes a virtual breeze.

The biggest drawback in my setup is needing to rehydrate each plant with daily water/nutes top off (where my drinking straw level indicator does it's job).. However I can't leave my garden for longer than 2 days before they start to starve and drying the roots out. BUT, I do have an untested DIY automatic watering system made from a 5 gallon beverage cooler just in case I need to go away for a few+ days. Need to start testing it for when I need to seek medical treatment.

I am bragging about my two Chemdog 4's
The older one is bigger with more smaller buds ripening; but the younger chem4 is smaller BUT the buds are 3 times bigger.

Sorry about my lack of replies to my thread. I lost track of things.

That Quebec Gold is harvested and long gone. It was a clone and very good. Worth the time and effort.

In fact I just finished up a grow of 3 autoflowering (Blue Tease and Gelato are cured and in the jars with a 3rd Gorilla Glue was just harvested yesterday). So far each autoflower has weighed in at 2 ounces finished.

My growroom is empty now and I'm considering what will be my next closet grow.

Uncertain about more auto's or go with photos. I still have more Chemdog #4 seeds and a few Mouie Woui. But I'm looking for more autoflower seeds. I have a continuous grow journal (warezaholics skid row closet grow) on Four Twenty magazine

noice thanks for the reply.
I just harvested a white widow auto from Canuk seeds and it's terrible, full of seeds and bud rot starting( outdoor) so i am looking for better genetics for next year

I only buy feminized seeds from reputable sources. I never heard of an "unintentional" seeds from a female plant. Maybe there's a wild outdoor patch of plants close by to pollinate?. Mabe it's a male regular seed.

I grow indoors so I don't have any problems.

Do you have any experience growing. I have had alot of issues with Canadian seeds so I now exclusively use USA vendors. As few as they may be
