Hey guys!

First time indoor grower using this as more of a personal journal as well as for you guys.. Currently in the fourth week of veg growth with 3 of DNA's Sour Tangies and have to say things are going very nicely and the girls are tanking along
With experience in outdoor organic cultivation i decided to switch it up indoors with the LED and HPS and incorporate a few different slow release feeds that ive mixed in with my soil before outdoors. Altogether the medium's ingredients are: soil, coir, vermiculite, fish, bone & kelp meal as well as bat guano
Also giving it a light fed of Magne-cal, Bio-Bizz Fish Mix and water ph'd to 6.2

As this is a first time all advice and tricks will always be welcomed so show some love peeps!

Week 1 , everything is going along smooth, over watered but fixed problem

Week 2
Topped both plants with a technique called "Micro-Topping" (opening the newest node and pinching the middle where new growth would have started) was done to both of these, hopefully 2 main shoots will appear in the next few days!

The topping was successful and two new node sections have formed in replacement, Quite happy with the efficiency of micro topping, doesn't cause much stress to her

600 Watt HPS was added to 400 Watt LED for more light

These girls are really chugging along now they're happy with the extra HPS and really showing there bushy side, I'd more say these were stronger in Indica traits
IMAG2813.jpg
Temp levels were hitting max 30c which was a bit to high by what people have said, added a fan to cool the bulb down :D

Ever thought about maybe side mounting that led? Seems like it might be casting a shadow for the hps and if you mounted it more on the walls you could get even coverage from both lights

Nah i hadn't thought about that, cos it is casting a shadow the LED is penertrating much more than the HPS.. Have you got any suggestions of how to mount it? the LED has vents all around it so air can get in so i dont think i could leave it sitting on something without it damaging the heat sinks/diodes somehow!

I hung mine this way, there is another on the opposite sideView attachment 3607841
Awesome man! i hadn't pictured it like that, really utilises all angles that way and having twins on both side as well is even better! Gonna give this a try out and see if it works (i think mine look a bit heavier than yours, not as bright though! lol) and once i can put the led high enough ill stick it in the middle again as before.. Will keep you updated with that

Lol, they are suprisingly light lights, but I'm still using all 4 hangers, just a little different than they suggest.

Definitely thoughtful thinking! Do you experience any stretch at all for the stems? i noticed your little ones are quite away from all the lights .. stretching is the cause of the lights being too far.. would be interesting to know

Probably a little more stretch on this grow than last, but this is the first one I'm doing with the hid system, hps bulbs are known to give a little more stretch in veg, but my mh bulb that I bought with the system broke in the crash I had on the way home with it, so the hps is the only one I have left, the 600w hid system is from apollo with an eye hortilux bulb, the leds are some blackstars a friend had, I traded him my galaxy hydros from my last grow because I was only gonna use them as supplimental for this grow and the galaxy's had better readings on his spectrometer (photographer)

oh wow! those bulbs release mercury when they smash, unfortunate for you on that instance.. I've heard some good things about the blackstars.. i bought mars hydro ii reflector 144x5 (700 watt/true 310) not the greatest but it way my fault not doing the right research :wall: they seem to be doing fine though so not complaining for now

*Update*

4 Days later.

Tied down between 6/7 tops on the 2 towards the right. They seem to be growing very large and bushy now at 5 1/2 weeks.. The led light has been turned to a 45 degree angle to help penetration of HPS at the top.
IMAG2822.jpg IMAG2835.jpg

I'm not to sure what it is but noticing little bite marks on some leafs, checked throughly and really dont know whats causing it, girls on the far right has it mainly and also leafs are starting to crinkle and twist.. Checked the top and underside of the leafs but still cant see anything.. Really need some help on that aspect!

And lastly im not to sure if i have a deficiency of some sort but i'm getting this slight brown/rust on a couple lower fan leaves IMAG2823.jpg

Awesome job on those plant really something special but trust me with the amount you spent on your set-up and the thread name alone people will definitely view and take an interest in it so there honestly no reason to post your shit on smaller threads like mine dude :peace:
I'm bored. And I never forgot my roots..

I came here because of Tangie..

Hello Shogon !
Nice set up !
I will follow you because i grow too the SOUR Tangie from Crocketts farms, is it the same strain from DNA ? I know they work together but i don't know if it's exactly the same.

I think you can start the scrog now and start flowering, your box look very full and i read than the sour tangie have a stretch X4...

Check my journal if you have some time !

See you !

Thanks man! Glad its worked out great for them :)
Sure thing man will check out your diary, and yes its from DNA.. DNA got the tangie clone from Crocketts in 09 i think but the ECSD is from DNA, funnily enough though the seeds are packaged by reserva privada / DNA genetics nothing about crocketts on them

4 times!?!?! i was expecting more around a double and a smidge lol defo gonna start to scrog soon then, i just hate how i cant manoeuvre when the net is set up! is there any sort of method to watering and checking plants once scrog is up thats preferred?...
