Do You Suffer From Cannabis Addiction

Hello, my name is @MustGro …… and I have a cannabis addiction.
You’re all supposed to say,” Hi @MustGro ”. At least that’s the way I heard it goes at those meetings.
Me personally I’d never get within 100 feet of one of those meeting, scared of the cure…

Now I can quit smoking it, and I take 2 or 3 tolerance breaks every year. Usually a couple of weeks to a month clean. I get a lot done but there’s always that voice in the back of my head that starts going, “this would be more fun if you were high”, ”let’s burn one and hop on the mountainbike for a rip”. You know what I mean BUT that’s not my real addiction.

I can’t stop growing it. The longest I can remember going without a plant is 3 weeks and that was just after I cut my first decent outside crop and I had a bunch of weed, so I thought I’d take a break for maybe the winter, you know, start some seeds in the spring.
I made it 3 weeks. I don’t even try anymore to not grow. I just accept the fact that I’m a cannabis growing addict and go with it.
I buy stuff for my grow without even thinking about it. That’s how I got co2. Now I have three 20 pound tanks and a 50 pound monster that weighs 185 pounds full and I lug that fucker up and down my basement steps for my plants happily.
I’m starting to think that the cannabis plant has the ability to bewitch people. I do everything I can to help any cannabis plant do better, mine, friends, strangers, it’s like some secret society we all belong to. I know I’ll only live long enough to grow so many cannabis plants until I get too feeble, so I stay in shape for it.
I think it’s too late for me. How about you?

Yeah that's when I realised I had a problem, I know people like that, who can only have a good time if drunk. I originally set myself a limit, only smoke between 6-12 at night to make sure things get done. Even with that limit, ended up smoking more and more within that time frame, and began clock watching around mid afternoon for 6. I am trying to smoke only on the week ends now. It has medical value sure, but I have no medical condition, so imo it needs to be put in it's right place. I really didn't expect I would become dependant on it in the many ways that I did. I'd like to get back to the stage where I could take it or leave it.. and one hit had me stoned for hours.

Yeah I’m no good with the wait until 6 pm or even after lunch time. I’m more like an on/off switch. If I get it in my head to take a break because I’m smoking too much I can make a real nice run sometimes. I promised myself I’d stop puffing it at 50 but I passed that and I smoke more than ever because I have more of it around me than ever. I eat it but you can get a big tolerance to that too. I look at it this way. If I had to have an addiction I’d like it to be cannabis over anything else.

The first couple weeks quitting can be a little tough, for me particularly sleeping and ultra weird vivid dreams when I do finally sleep. I used to smoke until I passed out every night and I remember quitting for a while and it was so weird to consciously be like “ok, going to sleep now” instead of just suddenly waking up and it’s morning.

Once I get past that it’s fine. Then at a certain point I don’t want to break my no smoking streak and see how long I can go .

I definitely get way more into growing, same with shrooms. Both weed and mushrooms I got into because I wanted to have some good stuff stashed and ended up with half the house dedicated to cult related stuff.

I use to have a growing problem. Plants in rdwc some in coco some in dirt clones everywhere and of all different sizes. Air lines and power chords lining the ceiling. Couldn’t move without hitting a fan. Quit that now. Simplified my space to one way now. I’m always thinking ,hey I could add but then I think. Nope just sit down. Enjoy the clean space.

Glad you made it. Don’t even get me started on https://www.tthydroponic.com/
I’m very fond of that place now.
Ha,just say no! Theirs a butcher shop beside my favourite grow store,so even though the plan is to get jerky I end up in the dam grow store.Years ago one of the guys made awesome oil so he had a spot in the back you could hang and sample.A quick trip to get jerky tuned into hours and would come home with a bag of stuff I didnt need.

It’s always hard to go to the shop and not overspend. I just started with the online stuff and I’m like a kid at Christmas. Maxed my Visa out twice this month and had to pay it down to free up some room. Ahhh addiction.
I think I have a DigiKey account now…

I have no desire to grow any other type of plant because I know I'm going to have to spend years studying the basics and mastering the ins and outs while my modest attempt gets trashed by weathered jerks because I ask easily searchable questions and respond a little combative because I had beginners luck on a previous attempt, but coming off as ironically cocky for a guy who is asking how to fix his sad little plant on an orchid growers forum or whatever.

Hey @MustGro i believe you are correct! Growing cannabis is addictive! And buying seeds! I have seeds that prob won’t see soil for a year but I’m making plans for 420 sales already. Like taking that day off work…. Helps that it’s the actual day before my birthday lol
