Does anybody use the Meijiu F6 480 watt?

I know a lot of you use meijiu but I was wondering if anybody uses the 480 watt F6?

I was quoted $398 shipped so thats a damn good deal. If anyone has a better recommendation for a strip light that will go in a 3x3 for around the same price I'm open to other options.

do you really want to use 480W in a 3x3?
dont know their F6, guessing its a LM301 based light.

Edit:
3x3 tent sizes differ a bit.
mine is just 86x86cm so inside 0.73 square meter, you dont really need much more then 200W well spread out modern strip light wattage in such, if not using CO2 in a sealed room or else.

If you can dim the 480W to below 50% it could be a good choice for your 3x3.
see page 8
the driver is still 92% efficient at only 40% load on 115V and slightly below 94% on 240V.

see page 6
a HLG 240H 240W driver in comparsion is maxing out at a good 90% efficiency on 115V and 93.5% on 240V.
So the 480 driver underdriven will perform better then a 240W and last probably longer if taxed with only about 200W.

Thanks for the good information.

I know 480 watts is too much for a 3x3 so I am planning on dimming like you mentioned. The tent I'm buying is 1m so 3 inches bigger than a true 3x3.

I also have a 5x5 that I'm not using right now but I will again at some point. I figure i can put the 480 watt in there with some 220 watt boards I already have.

sounds like a good plan then.
just would get sure you can go below 50% as written and dont get hung on that meaning you have 480W avaiable means you have to use them all.
you will win some efficency also by driving the leds that low and gain a better spread.

Yea it will dim below 50%. The light is 31.5 x 31.5 inches so it should fit perfectly since that leaves me some room for the tent walls to suck in a little bit.

That light will kill it in a 3x3. Every mm of space in there will be lit up

good choice

I was orginally going to use two 220 watt boards that I have and dim those down but I've been wanting to try these strip lights for a while.

The light is 400 and I just got a 400 bonus the other day so I guess it was meant to be.

I wasnt aware they could do boat/ train shipping for cheaper until they mentioned it to me. It takes longer but it includes customs fees so thats something to keep in mind if anybody is making an Alibaba order.

I’ve had 2 out of about 20 orders through Meijiu shipped by sea. It took 27 days to get to my door, and saved me lots on shipping my F8’s

Damn you're definitely a loyal customer. Have you ever needed to use the warranty? If so how did they handle it?

Never had to nope. A friend had some diodes burn out on his strips after 2 years of use and they sent him new replacement strips same week
