Does desalted cocopeat need calmag?

It is not brick cocopeat, desalted cocopeat less than EC0.5.
I am trying to start cultivation through coco for the first time. I purchased cocopeat that has already been desalted. Do I need buffering again? Do I need to constantly replenish calmag every time I water?

What brand? Any decent coco is prewashed and buffered these days. You can rinse and buffer it again if you want. Coco will need to have adequate calcium which can come in the form of calmag or the nutrients you use. Most cannabis specific nutrients don't contain enough calcium for growing in coco and may require the addition of a calmag product. Some nutrients specifically dry nutrients use calcium nitrate as main source of nitrogen. In that case a calcium additive may not be needed. I never use calmag with coco or anything else but I'm using calcium nitrate throughout the grow.

Never heard of cocopeat........it's one or the other.
What is the brand you purchased?
Some places/people call coco cocopeat. As with many things, terminology can be all over the map. :peace:
