Dry Sift Rosin

Let me know if this would be a good idea, take a gram of 73 or 90 micron kief, make a puck with a pollen press, flatten it out in parchment paper and just go right to the flat iron. Tiny bits of plant matter don't bother me so in my mind there's no reason to waste money on the bags. So far 250 F-300 is standard for temp but how long would you press for that amount of kief?

You may not get that much spreading beyond your puck. Let us know, will you? But, if you don't mind me suggesting so, I'd probably let it warm up for 5 secs, before gradually increasing the pressure. I'd also reduce the temp. Unless you're pressing dry ice kief, all we really need to do with kief is pop the balloons and hold back the capitate stalks and non-glandular trichomes. I pressed some kief (from trim) tonight thru a 25 micron screen, for about 30 secs at 180F, under 4 t of pressure. It's the nicest rosin I've gotten from kief. The attached pic is what I got. FWIW...I pressed the bag again for 30 secs an hour later and it was considerably darker.
