Drying issues

Hey .new to growing and need some help

I grew some nice out doors ..cut it down 7 days ago ..manicured the buds but left some small leaves on hung the entire plant in my shed ..there has been a small fan for air circulation on the entire time and the last 3 or 4 days I’ve had a dehumidifier in there as well ..temp is between 62-66 degrees and humidity is about 56 % checked it today and the stems are still bending not snapping and the buds and remaining leaves are still not totally dry ..I haven’t seen any mold but Iam worried that if I leave it it will start ..what do I do to get these buds dry enough for curing

i just went through this. High humidity so I used a dehumidifier and small fan. It got too unevenly dry. Some got to dry yet the buds still damp. Been sitting in jars for two weeks now. Humidity is just getting around 72% which is where I will then freeze it.

But does yours still smell green? If I were you I would turn the humidifier up to 60% and just be patient.

The entire plant seems to be drying at the same rate I’ve tried to snap multiple branches and they are all bending I did turn the dehumidifier down to 55% today ..I was just worried because all the site I’ve visited say it shouldt take more than 7 days and today is day 7 ..I guess as long as there’s no mold I’m in the clear ??

Seems as though your doing it right. My formula 65f, 60rh, breeze but not directly at the weed, 10 to 14 days

@Dom42083 I think you’re good. I keep my dry/cure room right around 55%rh and under 70 degrees and my buds take about 10-14 days to dry to the point where I can dry trim off the little stuff on the buds. Never have a problem with molds or mildew at that Rh and my buds sit in there for months.

well most times when the herb is dry within a couple days it is never worth a shit,so dry slowly and use a h7ygremeter .yes

Ok so I checked it this morning which would be the start of day 9 ..the buds and leaves are dry ..but the stems are still bending ..should I just cut the buds off the stems and trim leaves for curing of do I have to wait for the stems to break ??

I think if you wait until the stems break it's too dry.

I have the opposite problem, dry and hot. I think you are fine as long as no mold/rot. Maybe jar up a few nuggs and put a RH meter in w/ them for a day and see where they are stabilized in a non-air environment? Take others advise b4 mine…like I said im opposite problem

I have mine in a jar with the lid opens and a paper towel over the top.. 73% in the house now though so not much drying going on. 71% is the lowest I've seen in the jar but when I cap it up it still rises to over 75%.

Do you have any accurate mini hygrometers? At this point, I like to trim up enough buds to fit in a small jar, then test it with the hygrometer. If it's close to your target RH, then go ahead and jar them up, otherwise wait another day or more. I keep jar testing when the buds are close. Just make sure the air isn't stagnant in there, and you should end up with some really nice smoke-drying in the 60s really slows down the process, which is a good thing. I like to jar them up at around 60% RH (in the jar.) Don't worry, you are on track for a nice slow dry.

I ordered 10 mini hygrometer thermometers and sent them back. Every one was at least 5% low. So make sure you check then when you get them. Just got 6 from Amazon and all are within 1%..

Put them in a plastic bag and put some salt and a bit of water, not enough to make a slurry but thoroughly wet the salt. Then seal it up. You will have an official 100% condition.

Yeah slow dry is what you want, the longer the better.

If it dries quick it’s way harsher.

I think you’re in a pretty good range of temp and humidity. I have mine in a similar fashion but in a deep closet about 3.5’x5’, with a closet damping rod for warmth, a small dehum, a temp/hum meter (just hung another fresh one and T/H is about 68f/62%, but I expect the rH to drop to about 55 tonight)
How dense are the nugs?
How much atmospheric room in the shed?
I made little air-dryer-filters that I have placed on my small fan that it is lying turned-upwards (not blowing direct on plants, but area is so small the air circulated and fills quickly from the adjacent room)- I used baking soda taped up in thick paper-towels, placed on top to help dry the air and prevent mold.

I harvested the plant on Monday cutting off any excess leaves put the buds In widemouth mason jars along with a hydrometer Checked the next day and I was at 75% humidity I left the jars open for the remainder of the night probably around nine hours when I checked this morning the open jars are still at 71% humidity from what I read I should be around 65 how do i control humidity Inside the jars? I don’t want the buds to get moldy

Take them out and dry some more.

sounds like you put fresh harvest into jars skipping the drying part.
