They root a lot faster if you trim them down. I have started another bucket now and trying a different nut approach with this 1 (I kinda had to do it so that the little lady wouldnt go to the trash). As you can see I have kinda let her go a bit to see how she does (I have not given it nut's for 3 weeks). I may start another 1 soon and try my compost tea in it and see how it does. I just can't stay away from these damm buckets. I can't do to many right now, since the old lady is not a fan of were I am at right now with the # of girls I have, she keeps yelling at me when is enough really enough? That whole statement got a honest answer from me and almost earned me a night sleeping on the couch.

Have been growing in soil and ebb and flow for years, now im gonna give DWC a shot. Just ordered my buckets etc from my local hydro shop. How do you guys prevent the roots clogging the drain pipes and creating a flood? I guess you could plumb in overflow tubing running back to the res, anything else you can do?

Anyways give me a week and it will be running, then I will join the club.

got my water farm up and runing i also got a 5gal bucket going with air stone im liking the pot better to be honest pluse uses a lot less hydroton

want to start a dwc grow so bad, just want to get everything straight, i would like to do 4-6 dwc 5 gallon buckets, how much light would be good for this? I have a 2 600 Watt Hps/Mh cooltubes is that enough? i Want to get a huge yield, Im worried about nutes aswell, dont want to go chemy but still want a lot of yield, I can veg for awhile, thats not a problem. What nutes organically are good? or any nutes? what strains would work good also?

It's funny since you mentioned "your old Lady" I was watching an old episode of Greg Ferguson aka The Late Late Late Late....... and one of the female guess was mentioning in passing that one of her ex boyfriend was growing wed in a closet and she was scared shitless during her relationship.
I don't have to worry about the couch cause I'm single and that is fine with me.

Hey guys this is my first grow and i decided to go with dwc my fingers a crossed. Right now im starting with vanilla kush and violator kush from barney's farm

getting ready to start my 2nd DWC grow had to upgrade to a 18 gal res had problem with root rot in my first grow because of such a small res 6 gal from Sh did not know a hole lot and found this site a lot of help. going to use the lucas formula with his new way and not dump out the res had to by a water cooler to chill the res put in a ac unit to keep the room at a steady 76f.with a res temp of 65f so i hope all goes well

will do as soon as i get every thing in order will be useing a auroura Indica f13 from NIRVANA need to up grade my air pump the little one from the pet store are not that good for me anyway next step is to pop the seeds :-}

I got these 6 clones on saturday, and at the moment they are all sharing the same water. 4 of these are looking great and just right on track, but the other two are both showing different symptoms. The mango (larger of the 2 in pics) looks to me to be over watered even though my airstones are directly under each plants root system. This was also the only one that came in a root plug instead of rockwool and seems to retain water much faster which would make sense, but im not sure to help that out until the roots actually get out of the net pot and into the water so i can lower, or i don't know. The smaller of the two in the pics is one of my hash plant and it seems to be showing just about every sign of deficiency so i top fed just that plant a little over the last 2 days with nut water at 600 ppm (pH is 5.8 if you're curious, in top fed water and res.) and its still not getting better. since they are still so young i dont want to burn them with strong nutes.

Setup:
2- 10 gal. res
6 - plants
600w mh conv.
8 - 6" airstones
3 pumps total
GH flora system

Heres what im working with now , cheese-ak47-D'Og and blue cheese
4wks so far 2wk veg and 2 bloom
all dwc except the ak47 & D'Og there 20ltr soil pots.Had some root problems with a few might bin them if they dont improve.

Yeah ive been using them for a couple grows,ive had good results with them so far..

You using R/O water??? Looks like Cal/Mag deficiency in the first 2, over watering in the last pic. If you use R/O water ( which you should ) you need to add Cal/mag R/O filters that shit out.

"Clones"? Those look like seedlings to me, not clones?????? I think your ppm should be more like 300-400 max for these little guys
