Does anybody have experience with the Ecru 420?
It decarbs and infuses.........the temp and time is programmable.
I have an Ardent FX, but I've had issues with it since the first time I used it.

Just curious as to whats up with your fx? Mine has been a work horse.
The first time I used it the buttons didn't work very well.........I had to press the on/off button several times at different spots to get it to turn on. The timing on the decarb setting is all over the place..........sometimes 2 hours, sometimes 1 hour.........last time it started back up (green) after it had gone into cool down mode (blinking red). The infusion cycle has to be shut down manually. Because of these problems I question the effectiveness of this product. And the thing was frigging expensive.........I should have paid more attention to the reviews.

Some of the time difference could be the amounts and ambient tempertures. But it does sound like problems with the start button.

Does it decarb? Have you contacted ardent?

I always do the same amounts and my house is always around 78........so I doubt it's that.
Because of the fluctuations in time on the decarb, I question if it's being decarbed perfectly.
I just e-mailed Ardent.
Thanks for your help.........appreciated.

Using a sous vide for decarb and infusion is more involved but offers precise control over the whole process. Sousweed on reddit has a lot of info.

Did you ever end up trying one of these Ecru units? I just ordered one to try out. Currently on sale for $90usd on Amazon.

I got one and returned it after one use.
It didn't maintain the proper temperature for decarbing and infusion.
You get what you pay for I guess.
I bought a Pot by Noids and I love it.

Check out the 1 star and 2 star reviews on Amazon........most of the complaints were the same as mine, about temperature.
I saw them. Sometimes stupidly, I like to think positively that I'll be in the lucky group that get everything that was promised. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive so I figured I'd roll the dice. That said, if the MBM and silicone box work well, I'll probably not even open the ecru.
