hey everyone, been awhile since i been here and was hoping to find out some info. not technically grow related but wanted to find out from people experienced with electrical. it actually pertains to a birthday party coming up for my daughter. shes wanting a glow in the dark party and been through every possible outlet i could to find out about uv lighting and everyone wants wayyy too much money to rent dj gear but then i came across this little gem:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/QTX-160-026UK-400w-High-Pressure-UV-Lamp-With-E40-Fitting-Black-Light-Bulb-New-/131773705263?hash=item1eae532c2f:g:8BIAAOSwwE5WYGP7

what im wondering, is would i be able to use this in my current 600 watt hps grow setup i have? i know you can use a lower wattage hps bulb in a higher wattage ballast (or is it vice versa? been awhile, haha) but what about when it comes to uv lighting. is there any differences between a hps ballast and what you would use to drive this or would you use a hps ballast for something like this. it says the fitting is e40 which is what hps is but would i run into any trouble if i was to purchase this and put it into my hps setup?

sorry, i know this doesn't have anything to do with growing besides the fixture itself but i figured this would be the best place to ask as i can't find too much info online when i google it.

If the question was can I run a 400w hps off a 600w ballast (without dimmer)the answer would be no, it would blow the bulb. Since that bulb is different I would still say no.
That could be a lot thinner than a standard grow bulb glass, It may blow up, literally blow up and spray your party goes with glass and god knows what.
I wouldn't get involved in an electrical question normally but shit dude that sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
Good luck with the party!

yea, thats what i was also thinking. it does say that the bulb does need to be handled with care cause it's made with a thinner glass than normal bulbs but wanted to get some opinions on it cause i can't even find any info on what kind of ballast this bulb would even use and since both this and my hps are e-40 connectors i wasn't too sure. anyone else wish to weigh in? definitely don't want to put anyone in danger or anything so some professional opinions would be great. worst case scenario ill just have to rent some par can lights but would rather not dish out $150 -$200 to rent them for a day if i can just get a bulb for $60 and run it in my current setup.
