Undiagnosed Mental Illness. My friend believed he was a TI and killed himself a couple years ago. It's started off with conspiracy theory rabbit holes, then started blaming all his personal problems on government perpetrators, then he became homeless and turned to drugs. He left a fucked up post on social media accusing all his friends of random shit the night he killed himself.
You can see many people in society starting to venture down the same paths, believing in all sorts of right-wing conspiracy BS, blaming government for everything...some of that really could be because of disinformation campaigns spread by foreign actors, russia, etc.
