Espoma organic potting mix

Hi everyone,

switching to organic from coco/liquid nutes

my base is going to use FFOF but Im planning on diluting the top half of the pot with Espoma organic potting mix so that it’s not too hot for a seedling.

has anyone tried this product?

would appreciate any insight! Thanks!

Haven't used that product. I'll always stay away from " Potting Mixes "
Like " Topsoils " also. There formulas are for house plants.

FFOF isn’t too hot for seedlings my seed starter mix is “hotter” then OF

Yes you can use the Espoma or you can use straight FFOF.

What's the difference between potting mix and potting soil? Which one is better for cannabis and which one is for houseplants? Looking at the ingredients of the Espoma I don't see anything wrong with it or any reason why you can't grow cannabis with it. It is a plant after all.

Ingredients:

This product is regionally formulated from 35-45% sphagnum peat moss, materials derived from one or more of the following (aged forest products, humus and/or composted rice hulls), perlite, limestone to adjust pH, earthworm castings, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, feather meal, & yucca extract.

Fox Farms Ocean Forest:

Ingredients:

Composted forest humus, sphagnum peat moss, Pacific Northwest sea-going fish emulsion, crab meal, shrimp meal, earthworm castings, sandy loam, perlite, bat guano, granite dust, Norwegian kelp, and oyster shell (for pH adjustment).

I stand corrected Sir, those are delicious ingredients, laughing with you, never at you ✔ I would add B. clay for the icing, seriously.
I saw the ingredients for a liquid Organic fertilizer, then read how it's derived. It was high for phosphorus and derived from Rock phosphate. To supply that phosphorus amount, liquid, the rock was treated with SULFURIC ACID.
Just be aware.

my $0.02
I've used it years ago with no problem...Different story last grow. WORST gnat infestation in 12 years of growing. I had some left in the bag and I opened it and it was loaded with them. I closed it up and tossed it into the dumpster. I've had gnats from just about every brand I use here and there, but these were even crawling all over the growstone gnatblock I had on top of the soil.
Purchased at an outdoor garden center if that had anything to do with it.
My go to soils are Black Gold Organic and Promix Organic.

The insects will tell the story every time/atmospheric conditions. Look the bugup and see the environments it prefers. 75°F- 85° F @ 50% humidity ( or less. I keep my grow 35%-40% ( I'm loving my Inkbird dual controller).
Without excellent drainage you'll Always have failure. Next is the real Organic compost that's not out there yet !! Nutrients don't mean squat without active decay/plants. Understand that feeding your mediums are feeding those things,you need a microscope to see LOL. From the basics to nutrients ( Excellent growing hybrid) will be achieved
For POTENCY :
REDS BLUES AND WHITE LIGHT ALSO MAKE THAT " EXCELLENT PLANT.
FOR POTENCY, TWO UV SOURCES A & B. UVA ON 95% of lighting time. UVB 5%. ON 5% of time. From begining to the end CO2 a must.
