Excessive Droopiness

This is only my 2nd attempt at growing. I have 3 plants about 2 1/2 weeks old. I'm using soil (moisture control shit from miraclegro) and a 400 watt hps (about 34-40 inches above). Sorry no pics, but I'm sure this is something you guys get a lot. One plant is very droopy and depressed looking. I have no idea what to do. As far as watering, I just do it when the soil feels dry. The leaves are green, no yellowing or dead patches.

How far away is your light? Is it the leaves that are drooping? or the stems? You might want to try putting a fan in your room to strengten the stems. Your light should be no closer than 18 inches from the tops of the plants.

Let me also mention that the droopiness has progressively gotten worse. It began about 3-4 days ago and was pretty bad this morning (prompting me to post here).

The it's mainly the leaves that droop, that's counting under foliage and the tips of the plant. The leave stems are erect towards the base of the plant, but gives out closer to the leaves. I'll post a pic later today if I can borrow my friend's camera. The light has always been about 30-40 inches above the tips. Is that too far? It's still showing consistent grow in daily measurments.

personally I would move the light closer to about 24" away. Worked for me when mine started drooping they picked back up after only a day. I am also using a 600 watt hps so you could even go a little closer like 18 to 20".
