I still give my patients that option too....they choose not to take a copy when I tell them that they own the original.... mostly cause they think they'll lose the copy lol....

what does everyone think of all the people crawling out of the wood works with the mmj laws sparkling like "gold rush" in their eyes? especially with spring arriving, their are a lot of "caregivers" making their way out.. so i guess why i am asking is; man it pisses me off to hear/read some new guy saying they are a caregiver (or rather will be), i can help you cure your "cancer", or spouting off some random grow fact that well is random, then in some other post (maybe the same) OH but hey does anyone knw how to grow cuz i dont"

.. Its happening a lot. it pisses me off; i'm not worried about business (hell i got a weighting list for the 5 patient rule) it pisses me off that some poor patient is going to get hosed by these quacks..

that and how many people have been pm'ed or asked about getting cuts, but they don't get back to you when you ask about they're card? lots of jokers, looks like the sharks (even the mentaly challenged ones) have been released into our pool.

good luck boys

I totally agree, seems like people are rushing into this. I'm blown away when I go to the garden center tons of kids picking up 1000 W packages with no idea how to grow

more than people wasting their money and time, this is america your allowed to do both. these guys are going to make a bad name for the rest of us. jumping in the game during the warmest feb on record, people wanting to be caregivers and never grew shit, they will put a black eye on the rest of us..

If you haven't grown and your a rookie, start out as a patient! the more of these fly by nighters, outdoor growers trying to milk clones, and have assed drug dealers jump into our game the more likely the maine community will start to dissmiss us completely..

don't let these hacks fuck our shit up!

I agree with what you've said but what do you propose be done about it? Regulation is a double edged sword. Could be difficult to regulate fly-by-nighters out of the system without making it burdensome for more legit ops.

Totally agree. Worst is I'm sure once they realize there is no money to be made, I'm sure the black market looks pretty good. That is not I want to see happen here. Btw, since we are on clones, what is the protocol on trading genetics?

there are goona be piss-poor caregivers, just like there are some piss-poor contractors still lurking in the building trades......the best bet is to educate patients on how to find a competent caregiver.....

If we could get some ideas together I'd get get some simple patient handbooks printed and see about getting them distributed at sulaks and other places..cannamania etc...

no regulation, i'm talking good old fashioned peer review. as the community members we stand together and when we see this or the potiental we question the guy, if hes legit sure. Everyone here knows, i am willing/have gifted cuts to legal patients/caregiver but i am not going to supply some outdoor cash cropper and i would hate to see a good intentioned honest caregiver/patient get coexed into it either..

so no regulations, im talking elitism, finger pointing, shunning.. you know childish and rude shit.. lol

i kid?

I love used equipment!!!!
there are plusses! ;) i have a lot of used equip. i have a super seceret place to get used equip from these type people.. border line free.. lol

There really isn't a protocol yet. That is what we seem to be struggling with. I do know that I am nervous about anybody coming onto RIU, specifically the Maine forum, and after only a short time are asking for clones. What is a short time? Can't say, but I know it when I see (feel) it.

I am not what one would consider an old timer myself. However, I believe I was a member and fairly active at RIU for well over a year before I even considered asking the question. And only then after building a rapport with someone, and you don't do that in a week or even a month.

One thing newcomers might consider is going through Attitude and getting some beans. They always give you freebies too, so you build up a little library of strains yourself. Spend some time on RIU as well. You'll have your seeds in no time.

This accomplishes several things. You build up your own strain list with which to trade, contribute, learn. You get to know folks here (see rapport, above). You support a major sponsor of the site, which in turn supports the site.

The strain library stuff might not apply to someone who's been growing for years but I don't think such a person would be coming on RIU looking for clones to be honest. In any case, hang around a while first. I know I personally will not respond to requests from people I don't really feel I know well.

What I was asking; is there a law set in place for gifting or trading clones. Not really looking for any, but I have been doing some serious pheno searching and can't believe its not acceptable to bring this up. I understand covering your ass, but if both parties are legal why does it matter? I would think if you are willing to share a keeper, people would be interested.

I think the law is kinda gray on that area at the moment....I believe most of the ire comes from people that ask here for cuts and when asked for a cert or card fail to reply..
