Is fatmans ratios in hydro better then homebrewer and uncle bens !? Input off anybody who's as used them both would be great thanks ! Let the shanaigans begin :)

Fatmans veg 3.26-1-3.55 -bloom 2.81-1-4.4= near 3-1-4

Old hydro from 50s veg 3-1-2 -bloom 1-3-2 or 1-3-3 or 1-2-3

hard to believe that 0.26 of N and 1.55 of K would make much of a difference unless everything else is perfect.

from what i remember reading about Fatman, wasn't he doing aeroponics?
yeah that's what I was thinking to rky not much in it is there ! Yeah your rite he was in aero and rdwc but says that was for rdwc ! and av allways read a 1:2 off p to k Is the balance like ca to mag the 2:1 ratio too so just trying to make some sence out off it to mate !

i like dyna gro foliage pro for veg. it's 312 as well.

then i switch to Lucas formula for bloom. is it the best profile? no. does it work really well? yep. good enough for me.

ratio means nothing to plants, as long you use a balanced nutrition , they will eat what they needs. Some nutrients are more complete than others.plants require 16 elements. Ideally you want only solube form of element and good synthetic chelator as dtpa or eddha... calcium nitrate, potassium phosphate and potassium nitrate should be the main salt.

Yeah I allways was in that school off thought to mart but just been looking into ratios so am trying to crack it if there is a perfect ratio am trying to find it :/ like you could grow a tomato with a potato ration but it would be small and maybe not as good teaseing ! So maybe some truth beside a perfect ratio for what ever your growing like maybe deferent ph we have a small holding so a lot off ph and ratios going on in my alotment so thinking there a good or better one for cannabis that's all mart but thanks for your input my friend

Ratios are actually very important if you're striving for more than average growth rates and acceptable yields.

as long as its balanced for the plants your growing, 9-9-9 will do as good as 9-4-10 or 9-3-6 or wtv high N fertilizer is used. you just need enought of each mineral to keep your plant comfortable.

plant doesnt recognize ratio, if theres no excess or defiency, they will thrive wtv the ratio.

yield and growth rate depend on so much factor , the correlation between yield and nutrient ratio is far from important ,if not ,insignifiant.

Or if growing in 3 gal of water. Ratio is very important.

If your plant wants a 2-1-2 at a particular stage of growth and your giving it a 1-3-5 and topping off with plain water your plants will yellow (not enough N) and some, nutrients will get locked out due to the surplus of P and K. Think too, much K locks out Ca and Mg, but I'm not certain.

As far as ratios stop thinking and grow.

You will find what works for you.

I like a 2-1-2 or around that best for veg. Gives me a good balance between P and K and doesn't get my, leaves too dark and delay budding.
