Feeding it water and nutes

I think runoff is higher because as water evaporates and gets used by the plant the salts in the remaining water get more concentrated.

Every strain is different, iv had some damn near die on me from only 650ppm and others thrive at 1200..... I try to take those feeding charts with a grain of salt and watch the numbers because numbers don’t lie..... if you’re feeling something 1450 ppm‘s and your runoff it’s higher than 1450 ppm‘s by a fair amount then you are putting things into the route zone that they are not taking up and thus wasting money
Yep going through that right now wasn't watching ppm in the run off holy hell it was over 2000ppm I wonder why my tips were starting to brown lol getting the ladies back on track. that's what I get for "I'm not going to watch ppm"

Also u wana aim for 20% run off so if u give them 1 gal per pot, you want roughly 1 L dumping out the bottom of the pot. Don’t go by volume of the pot itself if you have a 5 gallon pot and it takes 5 gallons of water to get runoff do you want to long without watering I water mine once every three days during the first two weeks of their life after that it’s every day once the stretch stops it’s twice a day..... if you can afford it I highly suggest buying some drip clean .4ml per gal so it lasts a long time also get yourself some 10 mL syringe it’s the best way to measure on small scale grows back in the day when I was a small fry I get a lumbar needle talk it through each of my feeds in my nutrient containers so when I had to use them all I had to do was put the needle in shake it tipped it upside down and measured my dose...... if you go that route here’s a tip you’re going to need two needles because the first one you use to make all the holes is going to be plugged up with plastic and you’ll never get it out so keep that one separate and hang onto it so next time you get a bottle you can use that one to poke a hole through it
First and foremost I greatly appreciate the information. I’m Luvin the support here. So back to the watering @Buddernugs im a little thrown off the watering. I thought you were supposed to water %20 of the container size, so if it’s 50 gallons you give it 9 gallons of feed?!?!? please correct me if I’m wrong. I also have learned that it’s best to feed plants based off soil moisture??!? I’m questioning myself now, hopefully I got some of this right. I love the idea on using the 10ml syringe seems efficient but I’m using granulated feed so there goes that.

You just water whatever it takes to get about 20% of the water to come out as run off. Depends how often you feed them and how dry they’ve gotten.

Ok got it thanks definitely good to know . I mean I like to water them when the soil seems to have very light moisture when dippin the tip of your finger in, is that ideal? Or is alright to water them while the soil seems damp??

Aren’t you doing soil less?

With soil most people say to note how heavy the pot is when it’s fully watered and go by that until you get more experience.

Oh that’s easy......lift the pot up,if it’s light then water it....if it’s heavy then don’t.....for my peppers and basil I punch my index finger into the soil,if my 2nd knuckle goes in and out dry I water them......not as far as plants in pots go....water until u start to see drops fuming out of bottom

How do you define wet when you finger test?

With mine I don’t really feel it’s wet but if the deeper soil is dark then I count it as wet still.

Usually I’ll stick the tip of my finger in to the first knuckle and then curl it up real quick so it flips some soil on to the surface. Then if it’s still real dark compared to the top layer I’ll wait.

It will have a different look and feel to it if it’s dry, when I say dry I mean bone dry that first 2” of soil....take a pinch out and squeeze it between your fingers of water doesn’t squeeze out in any amount then it’s dry

You should probably do a few plants first to learn basic cultivation before tackling something that size.

Pretty likely you’ll end up wasting a bunch of time and materials if you go that big without the experience.
