Fellowship Of The 4x4 Tent

Here is my current 4x4, terrible picture in that my best looking plants are in the back hiding behind the jungle. I would take a better one but my lights are off-I just took this one for someone who wanted to see how I hang my tower fan. I talked to PJ Diaz before about this-he gave me the idea for using a tower fan like this-and for my next grow I'm going to get another identical fan as this and hang it on the opposite side, below the canopy. I'm so hyped about it, might be too much air, BUT it might be PERFECT. What you are looking at in this pic is a Hawaiian Snow that I vegged too long, and didn't restrict the # of growing tips and am just supercropping anything that pops up to keep the canopy even-it would be touching the light now otherwise, I'm just snaking its branches everywhere. This is a test grow with freebies, 4 weeks into flower with a new light-630 DE CMH, new water source, etc, I didn't want to pop any "good seeds" until I see how it performs. The light has totally heated my place by itself this winter-even in 0 degree weather-so when this finishes up I might get a few cheapish Spider Farmer knockoff lights to grow with this summer, but I'm loving this light during the winter, feels like I'm on the beach when I'm underneath it!

Tower fans fit so we'll inside grow tents. In my experience they lack power, then again, I was using it inside of a large living room during the summertime.

Nah. This site doesn't scrub picture data so LEOs love to come here asking to see peoples pics. Then unsuspecting growers innocently post their pics and sneakl lil LEOs browse the pics for metadata. Its pretty smart but scumbagish in the end. Not sayin that's what you're doing here in this instance tho...Just cant be too careful out there folks.
Oh Aye... that old chestnut lol

I looked at tower fans for a long time before settling on this one, it's a 42" Lasko. On the lowest setting, it blows HARD-I have to really aim it so it's not directly on the tops-they are just catching the wake of it. Keeps all the plants moving, which is what I was hoping for. Under the canopy is where all the problems begin, I think it will be nothing short of spectacular down there.

You're only blowing like 4-feet across the tent with a tower fan, so low speeds are fine IMO. You want good circulation, but not a cyclone. I generally keep my tower fan on low anyway. I do need a new one soom, as the current one is starting to make a bit of noise.

I have some new gear on order, so I'll wait to post any pics for another week or so until it arrives, and once I can get it installed. Basically my setup tho is:

- 315w CMH (philips lamp, sun systems reflector and dimmable ballast)
- 6 HLG QB96 elite V2 LED fixtures, powered by a pair of Meanwell HLG-240H-54A drivers (dimmable from approx 200 watts to 600watts total power)
- HGL flowering initiator - 15w far red (730nm)
- Agromax PureUV 24w T5 lamp (not always used)
- 400 cfm exhaust fan, dimmed down approx 60% to 75%, passive intake from 2 tent inlets
- multiple internal circulation fans, 4 on the floor, plus 2 @ canopy (one tower)
- 4 plants each in 2-gal square pots, coco/perlite (switching to coco/rice hulls soon), drain to waste -- two standard drippers per pot
- dehuey outside tent in lung room
- custom 6" axial window fan to bring in fresh air from outside into lung room on a schedule, passive exhaust -- in winter I exhaust from the tent back to the lung room to retain heat, in summer I exhaust the tent directly outside to reduce heat and humidity in lung room.
- cheap 4x4 tent from Ebay, I think it was $85
- diy crossbars made from 1x2 furring strips to keep tent from sucking in
- modified scrog type grow using trellis netting with 3" squares. Not quit as aggressive as some scrogs, but same general idea.
- Feed is Jacks 321, plus fulvic, seaweed, Silica, and Southern Ag garden friendly fungicide (cheap version of Hydroguard).

This is for flower only, separate small tent for veg.

Awesome setup! I love seeing cmh/led combos. I have two of those agromax UV bulbs too, but since this is the first time I've run this fixture, I decided not to use them until my second run, just so I have a grow to compare. I'm using a "red enhanced" bulb this time too, had an interesting spectrum chart. I'm using maxibloom, seaweed, silica, and Southern Ag too, great stuff! I have a scrog net for future use, but these multi strain grows can get hectic with the size differences. I think my next move is to get some of those furring strips, I like easy diy.

Super easy, cheap and effective. Cut the strips to size (I use two per side, one mid-top and another mid-bottom), then drill a 1/4" hold about an inch from the end of each strip, and attach to vertical poles with zipties.

I got my new 315w cmh lamp in the tent to replace my old 400w mag ballast retro-white cmh, and delightfully surprised at the increase in light at the lower wattage. My 400w philips retro-white lamp was hitting 58k lux at 12-inches directly below the lamp; the 315w philips lamp with the new ballast and hood hits 64k lux from the same distance. That's approx 10% more light for 20% less power.

I also kinda wanted to get a florarflex/floracap setup, but didn't feel like spending $100 because I would also need a bigger pump and such, so I instead decided to run out to Home Depot and get some fresh drip emitters. I always like to get the pressure compensating ones, to ensure even flow to plants from an aquarium type pump. I've done 2 to 4 emitters per plant in the past. I decided to go 4 per plant this time, all 1/4" drip line with T's and 1gph emitters.

4x4s rock. I have 3 of them technically. 1 veg and 2 flower.

Your tent looks new. Lotsa wires and cords hanging around tho. Protexk ya neck.
does your 1 veg tent completely veg for both of your 2 flower tents? so you get like 6 grows a year assuming your seed is done flowering in 60 days
