First grow; advice on germination!!!!

I just received my seeds from Herbies today. Very impressed with their service.
I am about to start the germination process, what is the best process for me to use???

I myself soak the seeds in tap water for at least 24 hours(2 days changing the water after 1 day) then place in damp napkin then put in a zip lock. Then dark somewhere dark and warm and since it's summer you can just place in cabinet or drawer and check each day and open zip lock until I see the seed sprout. Once sprouted I place my seeds in rock wool, you can use whatever media you feel and wait until I see it break thru the soil.

personally i think the napkin stuff is overly risky and complicated.. but thats just me.

soak the seeds in a glass of water in a dark place for at least 24hr.
then just bury them in good compost about 1 knuckle deep.
that should work fine, should pop up in a couple of days on average (might take longer) good luck
