First Year, Second Harvest

So, I started growing cannabis for personal use in March when a friend who lives near gave me 3 clones of Gorilla Glue 4 (i’ll just say GG hereout), and a Tangie hybrid I forget the name of.
I live on a couple acres near coastal Mendo. Temperature in the high 50’s to 60’s daytime that time of year, but sunny and feeling of spring. Far enough in to avoid the direct ocean wind. If you know, you know.
I decided to plant one GG in a nice 2.5ish ft. cubed container on black landscape tarp. Refurbed the soil with some local-bought premium dirt, made a little bowl with some coconut husk strands, and cradled her in. Then I built a miniature greenhouse around it with some basic plastic corrugated panels and 4 bamboo poles upon which a makeshift rack-roof with glass and plastic plates were placed. I hung a light on a timer from the rack to wake her up at 3am to keep her in veg. Too early of spring in the area for proper lighting, as I found out.
I would take down the panels during the day to let her get the breeze and sunlight. At night the panels would go back on and when the light came on it looked like a tall lantern with a vague shadow of a plant inside. One of the coolest things I built on a whim, haha. Wish I had pictures of it lit up, but, next Spring.
Jumping over to the story of the other 3 now-
They went first in a nice sunny room type nook, that had lights on a timer to veg them. They grew big, grew fast. By mid April I decided to put them out on all natural light.
They went in a tomato greenhouse that got good sunshine but from an angle in the sky that left about 13hrs. of sunlight not accounting for brief blockage from trees. Soon I received 2 more plants from elsewhere to round out my legal six (I need to get medi; I essentially use it as such!). OG Kush. I decided, out of convenience(?), to “twin” them in one large, maybe 20 gal., pot. They went in the greenhouse as well.
Long-story shortened- they grew well and grew quick, but 4 decided to flower, and the Tangie experiment grew balls, so had to go, though it too was starting to grow some nice pre-flower pistils.
I moved the remaining GG’s and the twins into a quick closet setup. Finished them with a couple small t5s, 3 LED grow spectrum flood bulbs, and some LED closet-light bars. Also a small fan. Very unimpressive but helped the early girls complete.
The Kush, which I had read is a fickle strain, seemed ready to harvest a couple weeks before GG. Worried about mold and secretly rooted for GG as the plants most worth saving. Pinner buds but tasty smoke! Less than an oz, don’t recall weight. With the GGs I only got 1.5oz of tasty quality popcorn.
(will continue this saga later with more pics)

Sooo, I am now on my second flowering season and will harvest two clones of the same phenotype as my first round, a GG4, also given to me. Expect harvest around mid-September near or on my birthday. I received them as healthy footers in early may. They were put into flowering (12/12 cycle, occasionally slightly longer dark) on July 10th. It’s now August 9th. They started together in my make-do little closet set up, but I decided in about a week it was too crowded for how bushy* they were, so I moved one back outside, where they had been, in a sunny spot near the squash. *I had previously “spidered” or bent the poor girls, accidentally breaking a few stems, to grow them more fanned out for optimal lighting. Being curious but one could argue sadistic as well! Well, they look good now, and after testing out a form of the bro-wer method of “shwazzing”, 20 days into flower I removed most all the fan leaves and left mainly just any leaf around a bud sight. I even docked a few long-term branches, “lollipopping” the plants like prized poodles or something. Sorry if this makes you cringe, haha.
I have now moved both outside but now “sleeping” quarters are cramped until I build another bedroom tomorrow ;).
The interesting thing is that now the plant freshly out of the closet has a bluish-green hue to it compared to the unripe-lemon green(?) of the all outside one. I can’t tell if it’s because of the color but the trichomes on the fresh-out one look bigger and frostier, while the always-outdoor has a bigger bud growth to it. Anyone experience this difference between in/out?
pictures, as best as I can get them
First is fresh outta closet, second is outdoor, and third is two side by side, and four is their bedroom on it’s side, and the kitchen sink ;)

Let me clarify that they were both outdoor greenhouse plants before I put them to flower; received mostly natural light except early while young. The one freshly outdoors looks so frosty I almost want to put it back but the fresh air and nice sun are not to be wasted lightly.

Depending on the plant you was mentioning about mould, growing it for longer will only help grow the mould, try finish it at ita designated growing times as your plants have been vegged well! If you overgrow it you risk foxtailing, mould, airy buds(not tight thick buds morr like leafy weed ) u want that gelato 41 vibess cute em off earlier.

Wish I could get better pics with this phone. I give them a dilution 0-10-10 maybe once a week. The well water is good if you let the hose run. They are doing great! I think they actually really enjoyed th e haircut even if the outdoor doesn’t need it as much. Very fragrant, tasty smelling. Besides their variances they will both be quality.
Now, I’m interested in how the lantern plant does on full solar power and the fact it’s been vegging since March. Natural 12/12 doesn’t happen until 9/28 here but I’ve also heard they pretty much start to go during lower light outdoors earlier. Actually, the Lantern is definitely going buds out now; big white hairs. I poodled her up a bit but am also really happy with how the LST/HST worked out with it’s overall shape and hardiness. Thought about trying to save her after harvest and hibernate her until Spring. Read a bit about post-harvest saves but doesn’t seem to respond well.

Well, I think I definitely went over with my one plant I call The Lantern. It does look like fox tails. Perhaps once it’s in first-full flower I’ll trip up more of the leaf. It looks like it would just grow monster bud, but I believe you about going too long. Fun experiment with that one! I have clones from it that are doing well under a few different conditions. And the two I’m flowering to keep my stash going are from maybe 2 months younger than the original 3 GG4’s (same mother/pheno, I believe) but are looking nice and solid forming with less bush.

Once they start foxtailing, i had this experience, i found that my quality of buds decreased almost feels like a reveg on the buds maybe the pollen comes out to preserve the life of the plant.

so any foxtailing just cut already, foxtailing means too much light intensity, n u dont want something that's gonna mould, prevention is everthing so yeah ! Good luck pal

Cool thanks for the tip from experience. Probably going to snatch my last clones off her and start covering at night.
