Wouldn't recommend it if you're feeding them reg flake food or whatever fish food.
It doesn’t matter what food is used bud.

it’s more to do with the nitrogen cycle in the fish tank water.

Nitrifying bacteria convert harmful ammonia etc into less harmful nitrites and then nitrates.

some additional feeding of nutrients may be required as depending on the food used it could be lacking in certain minerals for healthy plants etc.

But people have been doing this for years.

It does matter if you care about 'food grade' products. That fish food is 'not meant for human consumption' and also not meant for use in agriculture for food products. These foods can contain dyes, heavy metals and or anything else you can think of. Theres no FDA on fish food.
I've kept fish for many many years and used to run an aquarium room with more than 25 tanks and I'd never even consider putting that water on my plants. Ornamentals? No prob but nothing I'm consuming.
It's like saying you bokashi your dog's shit and use it. Not food safe but ok for ornamentals
There are foods that are safe to use for aquaponics for food products but I'm sure they're more exp then some reg old fertilizer

Sure glad i came back and read this one
We just switched fish from a beta to 2 gold fish and the food went to flakes. Oh well, i used 5 gallons of the other water today as we changed water. Guess i won't use the flake water from here on out. Thanks everyone.
