Today I made a rez as I’m going to venture into Dwc after Easter. I bought a 20 gallon brute with a lid and put a air stone in it and marked measurement increments. I ph’d water from tap (7.5). The ppms were at 100. I did this to monitor fluctuations in ph and temp to get a idea where I stand. (Possibly a chiller later on down the road ).
So I ordered two Dwc five gallon bucket kits from Vivosun on Amazon. I put pictures of my nutes I Intend to use. I’ve narrowed down genetics I’m gonna use. Soil grow now I got is 4 NL auto’s. ( currently overwatered ). These will get kicked outside after Easter.

Sf4000 and t6 with controller. Heat and humidity as needed. Takes a good few days home watching tent to get things just right but right now it’s perfect.
I been studying and studying. Had good luck and bad luck ( about 50/50) in soil. I’m glad to be kissing it goodbye. I did better with nutes in pro mix then I ever did in soil so I’m hoping this will be painless crossover. Think I’m gonna go with 00 Cheese and 00skunk for my first learning curve run
Any advice on my setup or direction I’m headed is welcomed. Is voodoo juice snake oil or compatible with this setup ?

i saw you are going with the GH 3 part. good choice.

i like 1-1-1 ratio for vegging and then Lucas formula for bloom is good for a rookie. 1:2 ratio of micro/bloom (no grow).

that and the hydroguard and you are fine. and next time buy southern ag garden friendly fungicide instead. it's a million times more concentrated and cheaper.

keep your pH 5.5 to 6.1 , dont' overfeed and dont' get rot. my 3 rules for dwc.

The Lucas formula is new to me. I haven’t seen or read that yet. I will give it a try when time comes. Should I keep the golden shield in the mix? Really am trying to keep it simple. I moved tent to tiled floor kitchen in hopes the cold floor works to my advantage. My sf4000 runs pretty cool to point I gotta add heat in winter. I see there is a endless supply of nutes but this trio seemed pretty foolproof to me in relation to when I’d use ff trio.
I plan to swap res every Sunday and keep extra plain water in trash can res for top off if needed. I get if ppm drops its eating and if it goes up it’s drinking and that’s how I’ll dictate what I should be adding ? I’m excited to get away from dirt and the mess. Dwc looks the way to go for me. I’m overly ocd on cleanliness to the point people do t want to come in my house.

i use silica myself. i always tried to add just one new additive per grow. that way you know if it works and what it does to your res.

yes, ppm dropping daily is the goal. if it goes up, add water to lower your ppm

LED light? I would get your air temps to 80-84f. Seemed to work a lot better for me, and others from what I've read.

My sweet spot for soil with my led has been 81-82 lights on and 77 lights off. So I’d say your target temp is spot on. It was a learning curve. Takes me days to get radiant oil heater fine tuned to just right temp. And learned a humidifier is a huge help. Once dialed in my tent only exhaust typically twice a hour. I’d like to think it’s pretty efficient. It used to run non stop and my plants were getting dried out as all hell.
Getting the temps I want to achieve has me questioning if I need a chiller. Never took the temp of the dirt. I’m not gonna buy a single thing more and just run this run for a learning curve where I try more. I never said but I do got cal mag.

Things are going well. I did have a question that I meant to post here and made new post somehow. I was asking about top drip and when to remove it. I do check ph daily. They seem to fade fast at first but after two adjustments it pretty much will hold for quite a few days. I’m sure that will change once they start growing. I’m absolutely blown away by how fast Dwc growth is. Them little Kratky peppers are flying too. I dont do nothing to them but give them new water when I do my Dwc change.

I'm about to order a couple of those 5 gallon kits myself!!! Never tried this before but it is the next logical step for me... I'm going to be checking out the way you do things for sure!!! Good growing!!!

I can’t wait to be done with soil. Dwc is easier and mind blowing fast in my opinion

Water changeout and sanitized everything. Things are going good. Debating flipping them as my light can only go so high. I’m thinking my next run removing exhaust fan and filter and putting it outside tent my next grow. They both got hit with light solution of neem oil for preventative maintenance before I flip them. I’ve sprayed them maybe once a week up till now. The soil plants that were in tent with them got kicked outside. 2 were dramatically cal mag deficient and other two seem to love outside more than the tent. They blew up.

Still rolling strong. Still not gonna train them. I throw a frozen water bottle in once a day. Water stays roughly 71-72 without bottle. I do it just because I’m in there anyways. My ph only drift first two days then balances out I been doing about 700 ppms of nutes and that hasn’t started fluctuating in my yet. I’m sure it will now that I’m going to flower. Still can’t run sf4000 past 75-80 percent yet. Slowly been increasing intensity and watching. I dropped humidity down to 50 percent. I think I’m due for a slimmer heater and more modern where I can get more consistent temps at lights out. If I dont turn it up some temp will drop to 73degrees. Am I over thinking it or is 73 fine? I’m sure water temp would like it.
Also due for two more Dwc buckets. Time to learn how to stagger grows

1-1-1 has been working good. I always bring my ph to 5.5 so it drift through sweet spot. I do that till it maintains a ph then I shoot for 5.8. Just now switched to bloom but I am interested in this Lucas formula and think I’ll give it a go

if you look at the GH feedcharts for later in bloom, it's the 1:2 ratio (Lucas).
I been watching videos. Just did my res changes this morning. Already had water and nutes prepped for a few days. I wanna try it next week. ( they will be starting to flower by then too) Been trying to stabilize ph prior to going in buckets.
My question is could you also just run micro and grow in beginning stage like I’m gonna do with micro and bloom? And I’m pretty comfortable right now and wanna try a bloom additive of some sort. I’d like to maximize terps if possible. Any suggestions?
