I’m curious if a DE remote ballast such as galaxy could run a traditional single ended bulb Safe for An eight week flower cycle? In spite of the differences between a single in a double ended ballast

They (Galaxy) advertise that they can run both, and I believe it's the DE bulbs that are more "fickle" , but I have cheap 1000 watt digital ballasts that seem to run DE bulbs just fine.

I'm in the ballast market myself right now and looking for something that will run both DE and singles, MH and HPS, with 600, 750, 1000, and boost settings, and preferably an internal fan. There really aren't a lot of choices!! And I have had bad luck buying expensive ones in the past.

The DE ballasts typically drive the lamp at 400 volts so I dunno how long the single ended lamps will last.

Yeah you are very right I learned...They do make some high frequency single ended bulbs, but I didn't realize you can't use any single ended. I just came across these 1100 watt high frequency bulbs that look awesome, and a killer sale....but shit, this complicates things even more in my ballast search !
