Gathering premium genetics, need storage container/box tips...

As my collection of seeds grows, I envision a small chest like box that is filled with upright standing seed vials. Small engraving for keepers in my collection, replaceable labels for the trials, one offs.... Any one know of or have built something like this or am I off to DIY land....?

Gotta grow,

Sir

You should keep them in a humidity and temp controlled room box. To high in humidity seeds will pop to low unviable imo

Roger that RM3, I guess a small fridge would not hurt......
Fridge/Freezer mini for sure. Get a digital thermometer with a remote probe do you can watch temps, in case of failure.. I'd keep the rest of the space occupied with gelpacks/icepacks. You could get all fancy and get a stand for test tubes or centrifuge tubes.

My buddy has literally thousands of dollars of seeds and he keeps them in a mini fridge. We are talking some expensive seeds like aficionado. I use my chest freezer just for pollen, and I keep a thermometer on that thing.

But I just keep my seeds in the butter compartment of my fridge, in a tupperware. it has a little door on it so the temp stays consistent.

I was under the impression there was still some dispute about fridge vs freezer vs none, but it certainly seems not!

I'm a fridge guy, I'm not trying to keep viable seeds past 5-10 years. But in reality, I've seen high germination rates even from seeds just sitting in a drawer for years at room temp. I have some rare genetics like some crosses I've made myself and some stuff I've collected from other countries. Other than that. I'm looking to use them relatively soon.

Just keep them cool, and control the moisture.
