Got a new dealer...how to deal with daily advertising texts?

Before anything else - I'm in the UK...(not been on here for ages, not grown my own since it went back up to class B...)

I accidentally got the number of someone who sells. I'd run out of my old stash, so randomly rang it and bought some...

(note: first time ever actually buying rather than growing my own, so a bit nervous...)

Since then the dealer has saved me on their phone and sends out a daily text saying what they've got. I don't want this...I was just the nervous "it's done - I've got weed, let's forget about it now..." and the dealer sends an advertising text out every day to everyone saved in the phone.

I've not told the dealer to quit it yet, but it's starting to annoy me. The dealer thought I was undercover police, but I'm definitely not (dealer was a bit nervous as well selling to a new person).

Shall I just ask the dealer to delete my number? If not, does anyone know any good free number-blocking apps that don't require you to change your text messaging app to use it? (my phone doesn't have in-built number blocking).

It's an annoying/slightly worrying situation to be in tbh...but at the end of the day, the dealer only knows my name and mobile - but I don't really want my details stored on the dealer's phone in case there's any trouble at the dealers end...

I'm just after some advice on what to do really...I bought it last week and I've had a text a day (just name/grade of weed) since, but it's always at the top of my phone because of it...

I would but my phone doesn't have a blocking function...tbh, the guy won't be getting much business from me anyway - I hardly have any at all nowadays (like, an 8th could probably last me a full year...). I just wanted "some" for when I'm on holiday, and I asked a mate (who gets it a regularly) a few times to get me some from HIS guy but he didn't so I gave up asking him...didn't expect to be getting a daily text after getting some :-(

Does anyone know any good free text/number blocking android apps?

Not on mine (it's not a new model..."Moto G 3rd gen"...probably the model before they added the block feature - even though apparently Android's got a block feature after version 4.something and I'm actually on 5.something...it doesn't seem to give me the option or show me the screens it should do from what I've found online) - I've found a new blocker which I'm going to try..."Mr. Number"...let's hope.

I know it's not a big deal really, but it's an annoying "electronic paper trail" I didn't want...and definitely don't want reminding of daily, y'know?

Equally I might want to get in touch with the guy again at some point...but not for a long while now ;-)

He knows I could get him in the shit...should I just see if the block thing works? (I could possibly get in the shit myself don't forget...).

I'm serious here...I used to grow, never bought before, can't really go to the old bill citing harassment...but can't have this carry on!

Does this kind of thing happen with some dealers? I've asked a couple of people who smoke who say they don't get texts from dealers everyday...am I right to be worried? (My mate who buys all the time doesn't think it's a big deal, but I hardly ever smoke it and suffer with some anxiety at times...especially over shit like this...)

I was thinking of asking the guy before blocking...would this put other customers off using the guy as well do you think? It's definitely not encouraging me to use him again...
"My wife/girlfriend doesn't know I toke and she often checks my phone. If she sees these texts, she'll be very upset and I'm unsure what she'll do. Please don't contact me unless I contact you."

I know for my phone I would have to pay the Telco to be able to block numbers. Not an app.

Guy sounds like a real d-bag with no customers so eager for repeats.

Glad I don't ever need to find a dealer.

Good luck!

I know this is a well old thread, but being in the UK I thought I’d say, it’s entirely normal now to get full menus daily. The police would have a field day if they got hold of my phone, I have quite a few dealers numbers - all of them send me menus daily with prices and deals, snapchats usually have pics of buds so you can see it before hand and know exactly what you’re buying before you buy it.

personally, whilst I appreciate you see this as annoying, I think it’s incredible that the drugs industry has got to the point where I get a menu daily with about 6-10 different strains, and can have weed delivered to my front door quicker than a just eat takeaway and at all hours of the day. I’ve been smoking now for 12 years and I can promise you, it wasn’t like this 12 years ago.. it’s changed and for the better!

you can block the number if you contact your service provider, give them the number and just make up that they’ve been sending you junk texts and that you’d like them blocked. iPhones have the option to block, I’m really surprised your phone doesn’t allow this!
