Growing Out males..

My question is , how long would I have to grow out a male in order to get enough pollen to use on other strains. I have a sssdh well actually 2 of them but they are both males , they are both 2 weeks into flowering with sacs developing everywhere. I DO NOt want them to bust , I only want to hold on to some pollen for future grows.. Thanks.

Clip off the pollen sacks as soon as they get really swollen and keep in a sealed container (film canister or something), they should burst open on their own inside the container over the next day or two. You can then pick out the plant matter and keep your pollen. When you have enough just cut them down. Unless you are looking at wanting hundreds of seeds, it doesn't take much.

Thank you , and does the pollen have a shelf life ? Do I have to keep it cold or store it some special way without it going bad or does it?

yes keep it in the fridge, should last up to 2 months, or freezer, just be sure to thaw in fridge prior to use to avoid condensation that will kill your pollen. in the freezer it can last, for the most part indefinite, but i would say 6 months is more realistic.

Yes keep them dry and cold. You can easily keep them for a year, after that they'll slowly lose potency, but in theory they can last 20+ years if stored properly

We are trained to hate male cannabis, but I've grown one out before and they are pretty cool. I'm low on seeds so I'm going to be starting a 12/12 party cup grow just for 100 seeds or so.

Thanks but luckily I took a couple of clones to be on the safe side , plus its a sssdh and I would luv to cross it with my slh and a few others..

Yes we are , and i would luv to grow a male out but I cant afford for the sacs to bust .. Nice keep us updated ...
