Hi there!
I was just wondering, is Guam known for any landrace cannabis? I grew some boonie peppers from Guam ealier (awesome peppers!) this year and it got me thinking about Pacific Island landraces.
Good luck with your search for other growers!

Not too sure about a landrace from here on Guam I could be wrong. I would think it's possible to have a naturalized strain maybe. Since most if not all bud grown here are probably imports. I'm Local to Guam as well par!. Idk about keeping mothers here at my grow since its small kine and I recently just started growing cannabis as a hobby to keep me busy during the trying times we're all experiencing. But, I do know some other growers who I think might be more your speed to help grow the cannabis community you've envisioned OP.

Hello! I don't live on-island anymore, but I can help with growing-advice specific to Guam. In the short-term, my biggest advice stems from Guam's light-cycle of 11-13 hours of light per-day, year-round. What this translates to is a photoperiod strain going through a VERY short vegetative phase if you start a plant outside from seed. So, starting a plant indoors & keeping it in Veg for a period of time is essential before placing it outdoors.

The 11-13 hour light cycle has its Pro's & Con's. A Con is certainly what I described above, but a huge Pro is that you can flower a plant outside all year-round (special care needed during the rainy season to avoid rot/mildew). A hugely-recommended method is to have a small number of plants in veg & flower all year-round. Have 2-3 plants in veg for 2 months while you have 2-3 plants outside in flower for 8-13 weeks depending on the strain & keep that flow going. Plants that were in Veg for 2 months will give you PLENTY of weed after harvest.

Please don't hesitate to ask me for help on anything!
