Gun control is coming

U took a lotta guesses, how about violent depictions in media, tv, movies, vid games? Sort of removes
the reality of the act and makes it seem doable to some half deranged person? I think that's a good guess.
other countries have the same media, tv, movies and vid games but don't have 128 mass shootings in the first three months of this year.
So, no. Those are just chaff and excuses. It's the US's lax regulations on gun sales, etc.

Maybe Capatalism without some compassion spurns such a dog eat dog,get mine,FTW mentality that puts the final stain on the dark souls capable of such mindbending irrational cruelty.

Japan has a very competitive society but you don't see a mass shooting every day there. I don't believe that this country is exceptionally vicious in its capitalist system. But assuming you are right, pouring 350 million guns onto that fire makes things so much worse.

I think it's the confluence of several things, toxic masculinity, the desensitization to violence that comes from constant bombardment in the media, a political culture that has one side embracing the gun as a sacrament, while at the same time totally destroying the public mental health care system,
the caste wars that republican politicians keep trying to foment, the demonization of immigrants, outside, enemy funding of the NRA and republican pacs, misinformation campaigns by those same foreign enemies...with so much working against us, it's surprising we're not much worse off than we are.

John Heilemann: What's the body count on Critical Race Theory?

As some red states pass new laws restricting drag performances and curriculum and removing books from schools, laws restricting access to some weapons appear unlikely despite the prevalence of mass shootings. The Morning Joe panel discusses the appetite for some restrictions over others.

There are other societies with toxic masculinity that don't have the same problem with gun homicides the US has. But those societies don't have the same gun laws we do . Every society has problems with mental health too. Passing sane regulations on gun sales, background checks and restricting the number of rounds that can be held in a cartridge isn't going to solve all of societies problems. Just saying other countries have exactly the same problems seen in the US but they have very different regulations regarding guns and they have fewer gun homicides.
