Happy Thanksgiving

You can't make an arrangement where you cook but she peels, nevermind.......
There is only one arrangement around here. She says and I do. Nobody on the planet controls me except my wonderful lady. I do whatever she says. And being that this is Thanksgiving, the thing I'm most thankful for is having her in my life. If I have to peel some potatoes it's well worth it.

I hate peeling potatoes but it's something you have to do. I'm always dreading it when the lady demands I make potato salad and brings a 5 pound bag of potatoes home. The worst is when I find out she planned for her family of heathens to come by for a weekend meal and brings the ten pound bag.
Leave the skin on.

We made a green bean dish called “ Arkansas Green Beans “ yesterday to carry to the family dinner and that’s all I cooked. But today I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I’m making pumpkin pies for no reason except I like’em . Spaghetti for supper because that’s what the grandkids want, but that also means I have to go to town for bread on Black Friday fmr. I spoil the people in my life and it always bites me in the ass.

Now to clean up the mess, and make turkey sandwiches.
I do same day cleanup so I don't wake up to a mess. I almost always CAYG "Clean As You Go". The lady on the other hand is LAM "Leave A Mess". I swear she can make something simple like scrambled eggs and dirty every piece of cookware, spoon, knife, etc... in the kitchen. She just scoots stuff out of the way constantly adding to the mess. It drives me crazy so I stay away when she's doing anything in the kitchen which fortunately is rare as I always end up cleaning up her mess. I can't work in the kitchen that way. There has to be order. The only thing I had to do this morning was make some bread dough for sandwiches later. It's shaped and in the loaf pan for the second rise.

Happy that day is past.

Door Dash Turkeys and Grubhub Stuffing is overrated.

My stepson offered to provide for 2 turkeys. 1 smoked and 1 traditional oven roast AND all fixings.
Stuffing was provided by a casual friend.

Other guest brought drinks, adult beverages as well, deserts and other accompaniments.
My Wife made 3 large pies, apple, cherry and pumpkin.

Everyone gathered at the scheduled time, EXCEPT for the turkey and stuffing.

For unrelated excuses, the main ingredients of turkey day dinner were delayed for an hour.

That was the beginning of another drama filled holiday dinner with the clan I call family.

New faces in the crowd prevented open consumption of stress relief, so hash hits were kept on the down low
for the need to know only crowd.

Due to my back being abused when I was younger my standing time is finite and by the time I was done cooking the clock had run out.

Nice to wake up to a clean kitchen. Last we put the turkey carcass in the instapot and made three quarts of broth. Deboned the leftovers and gave our crows a nice breakfast. Coffee and oats and for a little shopping. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
