Few white ones will always pop up. Look at the trics on the calyxes tho not the sugar leaves thats the important part.

Decent looking plant. Obviously, the stigma receeding is the first sign the plant is maturing. The next sign is the bracts swelling up as the plant finishes ripening. Your plant looks like it has about 10-14 days left. It still needs to swell, and finish ripening. It is VERY easy to chop to early, but it is VERY hard to over ripen a plant. In the last 14 years of growing I have NEVER seen someone accidentally over ripen a plant. It takes WEEKS of ignoring your plant for it to happen.

The best smoke comes from fully rip healthy plants.

Im only just beginning my plants flowering im growing pink kush which i read takes 11 weeks to flower i started flower on may 1st started seeing pre flowers on the 10th so i would consider 3 days flower. And your wife is wrong as flowering ends it's natural for older leafs to die and yellow it's the plant useing all it's stored enegry to produced thc and bud production especially if you flushed your soil 2 weeks before your planed harvest

I say the only problem with this plant is leaving it and not harvesting at peak thc production
With all due respect to the op. I say the multiple problems with this plant is nitrogen toxicity, probably overwatering and overfertilizing in general. There may be other stresses but not harvesting at peak thc production is not the biggest problem. If you think this is how a plant should look at harvest time, i urge you to look around a little bit more to see better journals and photos so that you can be inspired to grow healthier plants.

And for the op, i get that this is one of your early steps into growing cannabis and i mean no disrespect to you or your grow. We have all been there. Overfertilizing, keeping lights too close or overwatering. Thats perfectly normal and this comment is not directed at your growing abilities or your grow. Its more of a push for him in the right direction.

Thundercat hit the nail on the head as he often does!
2 weeks..
Thanks Corey, I really try to help new growers avoid some of the typical mistakes guys make. Harvesting early is absolutely in the top 5 new grower issues. I've put a lot of years into learning how these plants grow, and mature. I've learned things from some awesome growers and from actual experience with many many plants :).

I find as a plant gets close to harvest the longer outter fan leafs die off as suger leafs form

It always makes me smile when I see a "is it ready" thread because its nearly always 2 weeks away.
So easy to think they are ready because they have changed so much in the previous few weeks and so many focus on trich colour or a calendar date. :eyesmoke:

Its totally understandable but it pains me to see because we know the difference those few weeks can make.

Is it better to go of trichome colour with a jewellery miroscope or pistol colour

I pay no attention to trichomes until I see swell and pistol recession. Then its a great indicator. But before that it can be misleading.
