I'm currently using oil filled heaters but need something more efficient and costs less to run infrared looks like an option

Anyone much experience with them . Are they safe to use

Do all infrared hearers emit a bright light . Be interesting to see if an infrared heater which didn't emit light but infrared could have some benefit on plants grow rate

There are ceramic ir heaters with no light.
They are decent but have high energy usage the vornado heaters use a small element in the back in a box to heat and a fan blows the air around I use a small cube box size one and it will heat a 15 x15 room up to 88 degrees with no lights no fans running within about forty minutes all of them have built in thermostats for easy setting and usage so not to have to stare at your temps constantly they are probably by far the best portable compact heaters on the market

Regarding efficiency or amount of heat output for electric heaters; Watts are the only number that converts to BTU’s. 1,500 watts, no matter the heater, produces 1,500 watts of heat, period.
This is true, and a radiant heater would probably be a better choice for inside of a grow room. The infrared kind have a fan, and you probably don't want to be shoving hot, dry air all over your plants.

Just use hps. You'll get the photons, and the ir.
