Very nice, same here on th GG4 want to see some of the stuff grow that we had in early 80’s before the started crossing all the bubble gum x cotton candy x fruit loops hybrids that fill the dispensaries with hard lava rock buds that grind into powder.

Transplanted my 13 ladies from their dollar store trash can hempy buckets to 5 gallon hempy buckets. 100% perlite as usual. Topped Saturday and freshly watered today. They are surrounded by 18 hash plant babies for a friend which I've put in some happy frog mixed with light warrior. I completely revamped the flower room. Can't wait to take pics and show y'all what I've done :)

And my frankenstein reveg of maui waui. She grew some strange leaves for a few weeks, but she's finally revegging back to normal. Took clones 4 weeks into flower and the branches all had developed flowers at the time of cutting.

I didn't have any more seeds of her and didn't want to lose the genetics. We got 'er :)

Doing a purple Thai bag seed now that’s a beautiful stocky thick stemmed beast wit almost perfect simitry. Will mother a cut from her for x-ing.
Plant looks nice and healthy. Bag seed is always interesting. Just don't know what you're dealing with. Mystery strain fun :)
One of my 2' t5 lamps burned out on me and I don't really want to visit the hydro store with all this shit going around, so I snagged a 4 pack of hydrofarm branded lamps for $32 on amazon. Usually the 'dro store charges me $7 or $8/each for the no name brand. I prefer brand name lamps / ballasts if I can help it. Hydrofarm has always been a quality manufacturer of anything they make. Can't go wrong.

I'll have some clones available in another 45 days after I bush out my mother plant. Grand Rapids area...
Cool brother I’m just past metro airport off 275. Have another member that lives there I may visit when we’re out of lockdown. Have to meet up for a drink. I have a rare morracan beldi Kif hash plant in my first run, if your interested in the old hash strains fast grower 55 day they say, we’ll see in 70 days or so. I can trade you a few seed of that as I’ll keep a mother if I like and get a Female out of my 2. Also have some ace red bud, MTF, gangi haze, black pearl x skunk #1 and Alaskan kush x black pearl...more coming soon. Being a Michigander, have you ever come across a local strain called Monkey Paw back in the day? Now days? Thad my unicorn, trying to back breed it, need a few pre 80’s maxima Sativas and a afghani kush.

No I've never encountered Monkey Paw before. The oldies are always the best :)

I think 2 of my hash plants are experiencing light burn. What's odd is there are many leaves up higher on the plant that are unaffected. The area where it's occurring is directly under the hood though, so I suppose that's still consistent with light burn.

The leaf has a paper like feel and did not pull off easily. Another plant near that one shows beginning stages of light burn with slight leaf twisting and mottling. I dialed my ballast down to 750 and today I'm lowering to 500 for a day or two to monitor the situation.

On the other side of the garden I have 3 random bag seed plants that are flowering beautifully, are much closer to the light, and they look great. It's just genetics I suppose. So far it doesn't appear to be hindering flower production, but I want to stop this problem dead in it's tracks.

I'll snap some more pics just before the HID's come on tonight

Are you top watering? I have seen same thing with splashing nutes on them and under lights the tips hold the water and burn, simple stuff first. Trouble shooting 101.

No, they're too high up on the plant. The bottom 3 feet of my ladies are stripped naked up to the canopy. It's light burn. 2000 watts over a 6x6. I've always been a fan of overkill : )

I'm gonna have 12 in the flower room on the next cycle and will cover 8x8. I think the room is capable of producing 2.5 - 3# with optimization of plant count and genetics. Dialing down the ballast for the next week as flower set unfolds. I'll also move her tonight to a different location under the lights further away. That with the reduced power should resolve the issue. Simple problem. Simple solution.

After flower set is finished I'll crank up the ballast to 100% to let them swell. Don't want to cause leaf damage this early into flower.

Yeah 2000 is a bit much, I like raised garden so I can move plants to similars distance from light with many different sizes.

This is my first grow using 2 1k lights. The 2nd has proven to be a bit much for hash plant to take. Meanwhile 3 plants of a different strain are under the other 1k hood doing great. A touch of tip burn from the lights. I'm maxed out on height though. I've literally got the hood stuffed between 2 joists to gain a few extra inches even. I'm going to have to do some horizontal training moving forward to keep the plants as short as possible. Lesson learned on my part.

I just recently got a 2 pack LED headlight off of Amazon that works great for watering and doing reservoir changes during lights off. However they burn through AAA batteries fairly quickly due to the light's intensity. I hate buying batteries due to price, but they're necessary evils of the world. I found a 72 pack of Rayovac's on Amazon for $18. It'll take me 5 years to burn through 'em, but I won't have to buy them again for that long either. The raping they give you on unit cost increase for a 20 pack is just fucked up. I think the 20 pack was $10. At that rate 72 would run me nearly $40. Buying batteries is much like buying tires. Plenty of raping to go around for the consumer, but a good shopper can still find a good bargain.

Do you have adjustable ballast, I can turn mine from 1250-675.
Yes. I dialed both down to 750. Hash plant seems very light sensitive. What an ignoramus fucking problem to have. I'm sure it won't affect my yield, but I hate seeing imperfections in my leaves. I feel it's a direct reflection on my work, and I hate seeing my ladies in any degree of distress.

Been re organizing mine after trading the 6 - 4’ GG4 clones that were choking off my veg room for 10 new 1000w hortilux bulbs. From the guy that gave me the overgrown mother that the cuts came from...lol purple Thai and GG clones in rooter 4 days, ask me in 4 more they will be 8” fish bones.

here’s the new nursery and midleschool.

I dig your veg room man. Perfect size for the purpose. I pay $65 per bulb for my 1000w hortilux's. That's a sweet deal you scored there! I just traded 18 hash plant clones for 2 LED lights from a fellow local grower. I'm pretty darn impressed by these new generation LED fixtures. The intensity is equal to HID. Once the costs come down LED will become the standard. I've been childishly laughing and snickering at the people using them over the years, but they definitely aren't a joke anymore. The prices for serious fixtures though are $1k+ which is seriously fucked up when you can pickup an equivalent high end HID ballast, hood, and lamp for $350. That leaves a $650 spread, and the energy savings isn't as substantial as I first thought.

The fixture I would replace my 1k HID ballast with costs $1000 and I would need 2 of them. And each unit still consumes 500 watts of power. That's a 50% savings in power consumption which is sweet, but the initial costs for the equipment are still too steep to justify the switch.

I'm doing some serious tying down of my 9 hash plant ladies and 3 maui's. I'm going to keep them as short as I can to prevent the light from burning them in the flower room. Dam near 4 hours of tying down branches and back hurting like a bitch. If anyone ever wonders why good dope costs $200/ounce they should spend a few hours in one of our grow rooms trimming, watering, staking, and training branches at the end of their already long work day. I think I determined the problem in my flower room to be wind burn coupled with too much light intensity. I have since adjusted my fan up and away from the plant it was hitting, and I have placed it on a 12 hour cycle that turns off with lights off. My ventilation system continues to run inside the room though, but without an oscillating fan blowing on the hood's glass.

It just blows me away how such a minor detail like that caused such significant leaf damage. The wind burn seems to have been the main culprit. The light intensity just made the wind burn more severe. I'll report back with some fresh veg pics and some pics of the flower room a minute or two before lights on. HID paints everything orange and you can't see anything in any degree of detail.

And a couple pics of the odd leaf issue I'm having in the flower room. It doesn't seem to be affecting flower development thankfully. It's definitely bugging me though. I've never had to supplement maxi bloom with calcium or magnesium, but I'm beginning to wonder if this strain needs a dose of either or both. I'll have to pick some up tomorrow and give it a shot. No issue until the 2nd week of flower. Consistent with increased calcium and magnesium needs going unmet. The plants all as a whole look healthy, but there's definitely something amiss. I'll zero in on it.

Most times I’ll feed only water for a wet /dry cycle and see if It improves. I have never used Calmag myself, I know a lot of guys do. Try to stick with NPK . My Sativas handle my hurricanes pretty well, I keep them dancing lights on. But my Thai has to be out of direct wind or she gets angry. My Kif plants are in HPS now and loving it bumped to full power for the day and they are handling so far. Trying to get a fast grow up to flower if this don’t take a few days of what will? I usually would be doing a lot of training but I am running my new stuff to see some natural traits. Just pinching base of stalk some and one topping at 6 nodes back to 4.

Just looked at GG4 with more clean light and they started shooting a second blast of hairs and are budding again at the calix...

Very nice setup you have, neat clean and efficient. I’m trying to get more organized before the next wave of harvests may 15 or so. After then another 3 harvest every 2 weeks. All but the mystery seed showing taproot on latest drop.
