Health Canada reports "concerning increase in homegrown cannabis"

Even being licensed, legal and compliant, I went and got myself a dedicated drying tent with a carbon filter and fan setup. 5 tents, 3 of them flowering, one drying and one mom tent and you can't smell a thing in my house unless I open a jar or puff one.

Even if all of what you and I and others have posted about the law part of this is ignored, there is still the concern of being robbed as well. A kg or two of bud about to be chopped or just chopped is a temptation for thieves.

Just keep it quiet and as smell free as possible, and you shouldn't have these issues.
Everyone is entitled to opinion. If you have the mmar license or grown in large quantities before, you would understand that is more of not telling people.

You could have a neighbor with a 15 lights up stairs and 15 down stairs and not even know.

Enough has been said already :peace:

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here. I agree. Keep your trap shut. So I'm not sure why it seems like you think I haven't done this before. I thought it was clear with what I was saying earlier but maybe I am not getting the context of your statement. I've been growing for 25+ years and had some rather large setups.

Anyways, peace out.

So, "légaleezation" forcing people to hide (e.g. go "guerilla") is just fine, as long as you get YOUR daily dose. Never mind about others being treated like criminals, especially if from a province where people ain't necessarily english, white, or imbécile...

Smell complaints are a city bylaw issue now, not police issue. At least here in BC.
And that is the next thing that can crop up. Cities are talking about bylaws to limit how many plants you can grow. I sent a message to a city councilor when he was talking about bylaws to keep a 'factory farm'.

"Cannabis grow operations may be authorized by Health Canada, in which case they are legal. The Winnipeg Police Service has no authority to investigate activity which is authorized by Health Canada and presents no risk to public safety," Insp. Max Waddell said in a statement to CBC News.

Health Canada says it doesn't require people to live in the homes where they are growing medical marijuana but that there may be specific municipal bylaws that prohibit such operations.

"Although it is outside of Health Canada's jurisdiction to enforce provincial or municipal legislation, the department encourages all provinces and territories and municipalities to use the tools at their disposal to ensure that individuals meet all standards and bylaws," said a spokesperson in an email to CBC News.

The committee will debate a motion by Eadie that city administration develop a report on legal options the city has for regulating or prohibiting the cultivation of cannabis in residential areas.

"We have classifications of property because of issues like this," Eadie said.

"So if your sole purpose is to buy this house to produce medical cannabis, you're not buying it for residential purposes. It's a different category."

City staff should look at what's been done across Canada on the issue and come up with recommendations for Winnipeg, he said.

"There is a small city in either Alberta or Saskatchewan, who actually passed a law and said that the medical, they put limitations on the medical cannabis growing," Eadie said.

See shit like in that article is what gives us a bad name. One dude had criminal drug charges and somehow managed to be using four licenses lol.

How is beyond me lol. Points for ingenuity I guess lol

Ya he could be a designated grower for those four licenses or allow four different people to grow at his location.

No fraud, totally legit.

I don't think it will hold up in court if a city were to make a bylaw limiting how many plants someone could grow based off their doctors prescription.

I firmly believe, no sell, no tell and no smell and you will never have an issue.

No i get it man. I run a SOG and keep many mother plants.
Was just saying that its unfortunate that some people have been exploiting the system
That's an under statement. I don't think there are anymore Illegal grows happening anymore... everyone's got a license. The issue is those exploiting the system are growing more plants than their license permits and then selling the medicine.

People 'exploiting' the system is why we have legalization....you're welcome
Legalization is around because they knew they couldn't dent the black market and wanted a cut.

The problem with Legalization is that the same people making decisions are the same crusaders when the plant was Illegal.

There should he a system that people are allowed to pay taxes and have their crops/goods tested as well.

The system in California is an Example that Canada should have improved on over here.
